Party examination

Post by Lintelyg »

I'd also like to share my party with you guys and get some feedback on what you think... you know: where improvement can be made etc, etc...

-Drow Sorc, uses bows, diplomat, using alot of evocation and necromancy
-Half-orc Barbarian planning to dual him to fighter along the way to get the weapons bonus, low intelligence and charisma, using polearms and great swords, high wilderness lore skill
-Shield dwarf fighter, specializes in hammers and axes, intimidator
-Aasimar silverstar of selune, uses large swords and maces
-Lightfoot halfling, rouge/ranger, semi diplomat, uses slings nad short swords(should i rather make him a tiefling?)
-As for the 6th character, i have no idea. I keep on deleting and changing it. Should i go for a monk, or maybe a paladin of mystra, then later dual to mage? And if, what kind of mage?

Just comment if you will, add suggestions, hell change the whole setup if you want to, i just want to optimize.

Good party,
I don't know if I would take a drow as sorcerer,
they take longer to level up, and you want you're sorcerer level up ASAP.

I would take a wizzard, it's always nice to have a backup spellcaster, and with all the protective spells, you could use the extra spellcaster so you have some slots left for the (very powerfull) meelee spells!
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

asap = as soon as possible.

in this party you have the "tank" portion solved, between the dwarf ftr and the half orc, and some left over for the ranger rogue, you don't need more melee. that rules out the monk.

the pally o' mystra is quite likely one of the hardest char's to build too many required stats, in fact all of the stats are vital in some way. i'd scrap this idea for that reason.

you have more melee that i usually use, but it's not too bad.

i'd look to add another caster,

a cleric, druid, or sorc.

possibly a bard, but not really needed since you have a rogue already.

the sorc adds the most punch (i'd go w/ human or wild elf, no ecl)
and the cleric would add the most protection, with the druid in between.

i'd go sorc.

I agree with koz-ivan, definetly a spellcaster, first choice a sorcerer, because your drow will lag behind for a while cause the ECL (but don't be afraid, at the end he will be very strong), it will give you a lot of damaging power and is better than a mage, because you wan't find all the spell you need at the right moment; second choice a cleric (maybe lethander or talos that have some good damaging spells too) for protection and early summon undead (!!!!).
So at the end take a sorc. if you are more offensive oriented, a cleric if more defensive.
