Anyone online?

Post by Vicsun »

Is anyone online right now? It seems rather lonely in SYM. It's 11:34 saturday night and no one seems to be in the forums. Makes me wonder what I'm doing here, but I can't give an answer to myself and preserve some of my self-respect at the same time.

So is there anyone online or am I alone?

I'm here, physically anyway :D . Doing lots of research elsewhere. I'm sure Fable is here as well, though not positive.

Lurking, eh? And for so long I thought I was the only one who said yes to "browse in invisible mode?" in his options.

@Weasel,
That's actually my second thread with the same title. I didn't bump it since I thought I fresh start was needed.
And I thought that if no one took legal action against me the first time, no one would do so the second time.

Well at one point in time he seemed to operate in the open. But it seems that everything chages. Even Weasel was forced into lurking

I hereby pronounce the board dead at this time. Ladies and gentlemen, we have no pulse.

Tamerlane and I shall be conducting funeral services tonight. Tamerlane, do you have any final words for our dearly departed SYM this evening? :D

I'm online pulling a allnighter with a fifteen page paper I have to write that is due tomorrow errrr that means its today, anyway don't feel lonely there are probably many other people that have nothing better to do then hang out here late at night, myself among them.

Incidently its 3:45 a.m. where I am at, boy I ain't getting any sleep tonight.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the homosexuals and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a homosexual. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a protestant. Then they came for me--but by that time there was no one left to speak up."

I made the tactical error of drinking a cup of coffee an hour ago. Okay, don't ask why I did this, for I don't think I'm going to answer. :p :D (and Scayde, no doubt, will giggle and look knowingly at me in the morning when I am dead to the world, since she told me this would happen when I did it. Damn. ;) )

We will  *ahem* I mean... Yes we will!... be conducting funeral services at this point in time.

I'd like to start off with an ode to all the wonderful tavern threads that we've seen on SYM.

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink on SYM I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, "It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver."

Thank you, Tamerlane. *sniff* *wipes tear from eye* That was very moving. :D

Now I'd like to offer a little prayer if I could, in honor of a fellow SYMian and all-around good fellow who has been missing in action lately. :(

Here it goes:

"Yea...O Duff, O magnificent example of the brewer's craft, we honor you and set you upon a pedestal before us...temporarily. :D And Yea, O Duff, 'tis true that we do indeed intend to imbibe your rather hoppy and amber hued magnificence as soon as we finish uttering this prayer, but for the time being we are all rather transfixed by the vision of the frosty mug before us. Bear with us as we now offer our respects to our beloved SYM, dead on arrival this night, home of lunatics, maniacs, recluses, lushes, depraved souls, and other assorted odd and strange people that stay awake all night and pay for it the next day.

"Yea....it was real, it was fun, and I'm sure everything will be back to normal real soon, and we can do this all over again. Amen." :D

*drinks mug of Duff*
