End Game (SPOILERS)

Hello - I'm not a newbie, I just can't get into my old account. (Yes, I've told the Webmaster about it).

Anyway, I need help with the End Game, as I'm not sure if I'm doing things right and my journal isn't giving me much info.

I've got Wraithguard, Sunder and Keening and I'm standing outside Dagoth Ur's citadel. I can't get in and the walkthrough sites say I've got crank some knob somewhere. Er, where? I haven't found it yet.

The walkthroughs also talk about other ash vampires but I've not been instructed by anyone to seek them out, or at least I don't think I have.

Shall I have a go at Dagoth Ur now or haven't I done all the necessary things yet?

One was in the Mameca caves east of Berandas and west of Bal Isra (if you rescued the son of the Ald'ruhn trader). There's a nice dagger in there, someone to rescue and the Ash Vamp. Another AV was in the dwemer ruins where you picked up Sunder and another where you picked up Keening. One is also inside Dagoth Ur's stronghold. The guy in the cave near Gnaar Mok that gave you Corprus disease was one too. One other is in the sewers of the fort where you had to retrieve the 6th House cup, corprus weepings and shield (?) to prove yourself worthy to the Urshilaku clan leader.

Supposedly killing these ash vamp guys makes killing Dagoth Ur easier but I never noticed any difference in the difficulty of the fight. What's really disappointing is that if you soul trap an Ash Vamp they aren't even worth as much as a common Ascended sleeper. The only loot they carry seems to be the 6th house amulets.

They each have an artifact that is supposed to aid you in the final battle. My character is so chhezed up by that time, I never use them, but they are cool for the collection, if like me, you are into collecting artifacts. They are all named "Heart" something, and Each of the brothers has a different one. Sorry, I am posting from work, so can't be more specific.

Ya they all have cool amulets. and u know its them cause im prtty sure they all say something about u should surrender or junk like that. And I killed them all because they were to ugly to be allowed to exist. AND REMEMBER THAT IF U KILL DAGOTH UR THAT THEY ALL DIE. AND THIER CORPSES DISSAPEAR, SO U CANT GET THIER AWSOME AMULETS!
