Cheats: "Nice try cheater"?

Post by kevral »

Keep getting "NIce try cheater" --slightly amusing but mostly annoying--when I try using cheat codes, even though I cant see I am misspelling anything.
crtlaltdelete:addgold(1) should give me one gold piece, should it not?

Why cheat in a great game like IWD2,
money can't be the problem, theres lot's of it in IWD2 and cheating in fights takes away the whole fun of the game
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

That was really helpful.
If I cheat in a single-player game, that is up to me and me alone. I hardly ever do, but sometimes want to be able to.

Anyone able to shed some light on this, though?

Ok, osrry about that,
I can't see what you're doing wrong,
it should work.
Have you checked for capital-letters, sometimes the game has a problem with that.

Or try ctrlaltdelete:midas() it gives you 500gold, and see if that one works

Yeah tried that too.
Seems I have a cheat-proof game somehow, then.

Thanks, though!

kevral, try DL and install DaleKeeper2. It can edit your saved games and tweak most stuff you need - just don't abuse it too much since it'll take the fun out of IWD2 gameplay

Dalekeeper link can be found in ID2 forum sticky : Please read first - spoilers and such :)
I'm not dead yet :D :p

You must have a patched version of the game, doesn't that change the cheat console commands?

Dalekeeper is the best method. ;)

Dalekeeper2

Just a not on dalekeeper2, I have a Bard who was equale in Ranger also. The problem was that I did not initially know wich stats to choose for bard spells proficientcy. So I eventually upped them in dalekeeper, and I found that I could not raise my charactors levels in bard any longer in the game but only through dalekeeper. I don't expect you to have this problem, but if just be aware incase you do. All in all dalekeeper is good.

I'll make Targos mine!
