If you bring all the sanguine items, you'll be taught a new spell, Mephala's Skill (Chameleon 50% and Fortify Attack 10 for 60 seconds). I think it's worth it - I don't use the items, don't need the money you get for selling them, plus Mephala's Skill gives my PC the ability to enchant items with Fortify Attack.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

If you recover all the sanguine items and turn them over to Eno Hlaalu you will get a blessing from Mephala, the patron deadric god of assassins. The blessing is in the form of a spell that casts chameleon, fortify attack and fortify short blade all at once (it has a 100% successful casting rate). If you have the latest patch, the fortify short blade part of the spell was removed. Whether its worth it or not is really up to you. If you're not a spellcasting type then maybe its not. Also its very hard to recover all the items as they are scattered all over the map. The best tip I could give you is to taunt and kill anyone who says they are an assassin but does not identify themselves with the Morag Tong. Since these assassins aren't Morag Tong they must be Dark Brotherhood members. Some others are held by Mehrunes Dagon worshippers. They will tell you something like "I'm an assassin, what I do is my business" when you ask them about their background.

Highlight for complete spoiler:

I lifted this info off the UESP: Morrowind web site:

1. Amulet of Sanguine Enterprise. Already held by Eno.
2. Amulet of Sanguine Glib Speech. Shotherra, Thongar's place in Khuul.
3-5. Amulet of Sanguine Nimble Armor, Ring of Sanguine Fluid Evasion and Glove of Sanguine Swift Blade. Severa Magia in Ald Sotha shrine (NE of Vivic).
6-7. Belt of Sanguine Balanced Armor and Belt of Sanguine Deep Biting. Relas Arothan in Assernerairen Shrine located in Vivic, St. Olms canton underworks.
8. Belt of Sanguine Denial. Given to you by Movis Dary's (Ald'ruhn Mages Guild) as one of Eno's special duties quests.
9. Belt of Sanguine Fleetness. Hrordis, Halfway House, 2nd floor bedroom, Pelagiad (another one of Eno's special duties quests).
10-11. Belts of Sanguine Hewing and Sanguine Sureflight. Durus Marius, Assernerairen Shrine, St. Olms underworks.
12. Belt of Sanguine Impaling Thrust. Gluronk gra-Shula, 2nd floor, Sadrith Mora Gateway Inn.
13. Belt of Sanguine Martial Craft. Carecalmo, Ashalmimilkala Shrine. N of Hla Oad, E of Balmora on coast.

I confess, this is one quest I cheat on :)
I did it the regular way twice, in two different play throughs... after that I said the hell with it, went into the editor, filled a chest with every one of the sanguine items, then placed it in the same room as Eno Hlalu.

The quest is fun and interesting the first couple of times, but an annoyance after that.
