Help with Mae'Var's first quest

Post by Raen »

I feel really stupid, but I can't seem to do Mae'Var's first quest. He wants me to steal a golden statuette from the Temple of Lathandar in the Temple District. There's an alarm on the safe that goes off when I try to open it and then all the guards attack, which can't be right. How do I disable the alarm or what obvious thing am I missing?

Thanks.

This might be the only place in the temple w/o alarm ;) Just see if anybody else see you ;) At least, so it was for me. The place is

SE platform, locked (not sure, though, there are two containers, one of them definitely locked).

I thought you needed to steal a necklace from that other temple, not helm or Lothander but the other one?

Are you playing as a Thief? maybe its different.
Oh well

@Raen: I believe you have to attempt the theft at night (less guards). Then wait for the priest to leave the platform and get out of your area of sight- nobody must see you stealing the statuette.

@Krimmy: You are either asked to steal the statuette or the necklace. I'm not sure whether it's random or decided by alignement.

I think it is detirmined by alignment. everytime I have been evil I have been asked to steal the statue and vice versa.
