Miss backstabbing!

Post by Skeelo »

Since Yoshimo leaves you and kept on attacking me I decided to dump him for Jan. Jan is not the backstabbing type, mostly because he is a mage and he is bad at hiding in shadows. I do not have any other thief and I am at a real loss because I have no backstabber which takes a lot of fun out. My characters are Me (Archer), Minsc, Anomen, Jahiera, Jan, and Edwin. Anybody have any suggestions on how I can start backstabbing again? Wish I started the game with an assassin.

check the gamebashee item list

there are a lot of rings and cloacks that help u become a better thief (iding in shadows and that kinda crap). I really dont remember where i got all the rings but if you dont want to use the item list u could seek out valygar. Is a 100+ hide in de shadows stalker.

I think you can use an invisibility spell to backstab. Not sure though.
And BTW, assasins suck. Their thief skill penalty makes the thief a much better backstabber.

Yup, you can drink a potion of invisibility to backstab afterwards, the ring of invisibility (you can find 2 of them in the game) helps just the same as any other spell of invisibility would help (or scroll for that sake).

I don't know why people even bring this stuff up. Using a potion of invis everytime I want to backstab would just be a huge waste of money.

Well doh!

Sure it would be a waste of money if you did that, and I don't even think that there are so many potions of invisibility, but as I said, there are spells etc.

The potion are only if you're in front of an enemy for example, then you aren't able to hide in shadows, so you drink the potion, you're invisble and can then backstab... A nice way to cheat death, too. Image
