How to make Xzar a party member?

Post by na007 »

I play with TDD game mod, and i want xzar to join my party. I find the body of motaron at the Harper Hold, but when I go to talk with the mage I can't say him the harpers wanna trick him, just the original Motaron turned into a bird answer appears. Please help me, thx.

I think you have to do that quest and then you'll have an option for him to join.

Xzar can not join your party without the aid of cheats. CTRL-something will automatically add him to your party, but beware that he will have no dialogs as he wasn't meant to be an NPC. :)

I have the Darkest Day game mod installed. In this Xzar can be a member of your party, i just don't know how.

this is not at all certain but i seem to remember hearing that there is an extra quest for him which ends in him joining, but as i say i am not very sure at all

just save, do the quest and see what happens

Just do the quest the normal way. He has a surprise in store for the harpers. ;)

Spoiler...

I played the TDD mod too, and this is what you need to do. Get the bird, and while you're still in the area, search the locked chests in the next room for Montaron's body. If you don't you'll be locked out and unable to get Xzar (and Montaron) to join you. Complete the quest as normal (I dropped the real body before talking to Xzar's clone just to be safe). After he's killed, pick up the real body and head back to Xzar's house where you killed the apprentices. After a minute or two Xzar should gate in, raise Montaron, and offer to join your party. Be aware that the BG1 limitation where if either Xzar or Montaron is kicked out then they both leave is still in place.

This is such a large issue I'm surprised it's made it past several versions without being addressed in a patch yet.
"Game Balance" is getting all players to complain equally.
