It says in my book that you should follow him to the treasure room then dispose of him. Their you should find the fourth coil of rope. How many do you have to begin with? Sorry if I could not be of help, you may have a bug.

Yepp..hes running away..i chase him..i came to his treasure room and got a rope..but i still have only three..the one from the bridge, the one from the chest in lvl 2 and the one from the tresure room. I know that one rope should be on lvl one at the place where i kill small wyverns..but i cannot find a rope there..i have looted all three chests and everything..but no rope :(

Again going from my guide, it says the rope on the first level of dragons eye is on the bridge handholds. Did you get this one?

Ok, in my guide it says there should be a third length of rope in the armoury first floor south west of the fallen wyvern. Sounds kind of wierd about what you were saying when it looked like Thoraskus stole or someone stole an item??? Well I do know you could download latest version of Dalekeeper2. This is an editor for saved games. You could add a length of rope to your inventory, though its kind or a cheesy way, very potent.
Let me know if I can help further.

I'm having the same problem, in that I didn't find a length of rope in the armoury.
