how do i get rid of summoned creatues

I summoned mordenkainen's faithful hound and I want him to leave but he wont. ive tried talking to it, tried attacking it, etc

I've not cast this particular spell, but usually if you right click on the person who cast the spell and bring up the radial menu, you'll have an option somewhere to end or dismiss current spell effects.

Cloudkill will get rid of them.

Incidently you can summon a whole pack of hounds whick is very useful for scouting since npcs don't react to them and area denial in combat.

The spell dismiss works quite well - even against demons summoned by the orb
