Is this a bug or not?

I'm playing through SoA, and i have ToB installed. My characters are getting pretty high level (lvl 17-19), but still no high level abilities. I was thinking that you only get those in ToB, not in SoA. But then I got Solaufein in my party (Solaufein MOD), and he DID get his high level abilities, even while he's only level 15. So, am I supposed to get the abilities in SoA or not?

Hmm...

If memory serves me correctly, it has to do with EXP not level. You get HLAs at the first level past (IIRC) 3 million EXP - are the rest of your party single class characters? If so, it may just happen that Sola has the magic number (and has levelled) while the single class ones haven't.

With a 3-member-party you'll get HLA around Underdark. And believe me, from that point on things get very boring ... Planetars and UAI are too heavy for SoA.
