Confusion reigns........
Right, quick query here.
I've made it to Malak. I've pounded him for a while until he uses those jedi-thingies to replenish himself.
I've realised that I have to take out the rest of the fallen jedi in order to stop him regenerating again.
The only problem is I can't actually seem to hurt them.
I'm a light-side jedi, and have neither force supression nor lightsabre throw. I can't hurt them with any of my offensive powers or my physical lightsabre prowess.
Am I therefore utterly screwed? Is there no way to complete the game without beating the cheese out of Malak nine times?
Or have i found a glitch in the game?
Yours concernedly from England.
Oh, utterly superb game by the way.............

Aegis,
Much obliged sir.
Hmmm. That is indeed a bummer. Damn my overly-conservative application of force powers.
Or I suppose I could load up an earlier saved game, and subsequently add differing force powers.
But then that's really annoying, and time consuming as well.
This game has taken up enough of my life as it is...........

Besides those powers, if you are Light Side you can use Destroy Droid to take them out.
Then if you are Dark Side you can use Death Field yourself and get more health.

Darth Anubis,
Thank you for pointing that out, bu I haven't got destroy droid either .
What the fudge have I been spending my force points on?
I'm level 20 after all.........
Too many defensive powers methinks.
I could just start again as a dark jedi and kill everybody in order to take out my frustration. Malak is a double-hard little muppet.......

Aegis,
Well then, our characters can sit there together in the slighty narked confidence that if they ever do meet an opponent who isn't a sith lord with constant regenerative powers, they will beat the spoons out of them within seconds.
Not much consolation at the moment (as I fail to summon up the energy to confront Malak for the 473rd time today..........)

You can play defensively, but if you do it is a test of endurance. If your character doesn't have the endurance to play through Malak's fight, you're in trouble. Make sure you use the best dueling shields.

Aegis, Darth,
Many thanks for your advice good sirs.
I shall enable my verpine duelling shields, use my various alacrity stims, and wield my two finest lightsabres in mortal combat.
If I lose, well then it's my fault entirely.
If I win? Well, it'll be down to judiscious application of pointless defensive force powers...........

Unfortunately defense is of little use in the final fight, as Malak's BAB is far too high for any amount to be effective. But you should be able to live it through if you've been keeping your strength at a respectable level (gauntlets, belt and such). Valor won't work, because Malak will repeatedly use Breach on you and you need your FP to keep Master Speed running (I'm assuming you have Master Speed). Then Flurry him. I usually have about +13 bonus damage by the endgame, and I can make Malak flee in two or three Flurries with a single weapon.
You should have plenty of health kits, so just use the time he's running away to heal. Remember, if you run out of heal kits and you need to use the force to heal yourself, then you can restore FP by running around in a small circle for a couple of minutes. Malak won't be able to catch up with you, and eventually combat will break off and your FP will begin to regenerate at the accelerated rate. Then when it's full, just stop, bash Malak about, throw Heal a few times while he's running like a pansy, and be topped up ready for another round when he gets back.
Alternatively you can reload to a game where you're level 19, and take Force Drain as your level 20 power, which'll make things infinitely easier. Doesn't matter if you're light side, as the act of draining the Jedi will refill both your VP and FP to full. I reserve at least one power for this purpose in most games.

I found that simple attacks were key for me (as I set up a defensive Jedi). Luckily for me, at char creation, I upped primarly my Str and Dex. By the end of the game, I used up all +8 of the dex AC, plus the AC from the robes offered by the robes, not to mention the Jedi defense bonus of +6, and I was doing plenty of damage from my light saber, so I just muled through it. Barely.
