Freeing the Deva

Post by MacHurto »

I just cut the chains on Trias and he told me to go through the portal to the north. However, the door was still closed (all my problems in this game seem to be related with closed doors XD).

He is supposed to give me a broken link of his chain as key, but it doesn't show up in my inventory :-(

Is this a bug or I'm just missing something?

PS: Anyone knows why you get more XP by killing the Deva if it is not possible to continue the game afterwards? what's the point? :-?

Ok, for some reason I could open the door yesterday, which makes this thread rather useless :-(

I didn't change anything, I just went to the door and it opened, maybe it is necessary to go with the nameless one :-?

A question about the walkthrough, it says:
(spoiler)

If you choose to hand over Morte, you can actually get him back after you've received your information for a 5 point loss in hit points

Well, I cannot recover Morte. I choose the option of keep fighting to get him out of there and all I get is - 10 HP. I increased my Strength to 21 just in case it had something to do with it but it didn't matter. Anyone knows why it doesn't work?

A last thing: What is the use of the modron Cube, anyway?

You need to be double specialized.

Talk to the Modrons in the Brothel, or the owner of the art gallery in the Clerk's Ward about it. Then you will be able to use it (once you figure out the right combo) to teleport you to a special area. It can only be used in Sigil.

Thanks :-)
I'll try it in my next game, I had to give it to the pillar of skulls :-(

PS:
- There is no love letters in Yves room :-?
- Fhjull doesn't tell me how to get back from Baator (walkthrough error? :-?)

Thanks for all the help anyway :-)

can't quite remember whether he does or not, but I had to work it out for myself the first time...

spoiler...

in the bottom-left corner of the main area there are loadsa little black rocks. go there and a dialogue will start up. you can then work it out for yourself.
Here where the flattering and mendacious swarm
Of lying epitaths their secrets keep,
At last incapable of further harm
The lewd forefathers of the village sleep.

You are double specialized in a class if you reached levels 7 and 12 in that class before any other class.

You must be playing the 4CD version without the official patch? Install the patch next time.

You need 18 INT or more to get that info from Fhjull. If you didn't get it from Fhjull you'll have to ask the Pillar of Skulls.

I just gave the modron cube. Thanks for the information, anyway :-) I'll use it next time ;-)

If you don't get the information before from the pillar of skulls, the dialogue doesn't start up (at least, not for me :-( )
