Need a Clue- Possible Spoiler

I have just entered the Graveyard District for the first time. I have encountered all the things in the SoA Walkthrough. The one thing I haven't been able to do is get into the UPSTAIRS of the Cooper Cornet to retrieve the little boys bear. How do I get past the gaurd inorder to get upstairs?

I also would like to know if you have to keep Yoshimo as your theif or if you can give Nalia that task & pick up another Wizard to take her place or if there is another theif in the story besides either of them.

Jan Jansen in the Government (sp?) area is a great thief/mage!

To go upstairs talk to the creepy guy next to the bartender in the copper coronet and tell him you're interested in "special service". He'll tell the guard to let you in.

You don't have to keep Yoshimo... Nalia will be all you need in terms of thieving skills until you reach spellhold. After you can have Imoen replace her, as she is a slightly better thief.
