Okay something's wrong. I tried making via the "shop" module a cleric that either dual wields or wields double weapon. Dual wielding works fine - with the feats i get the extra attacks.
But double weapon seems unaffected by the ambi and dual wieding options - which means that a l 17 char still has 3 attacks per round... I don't get what's happening. From other sources I read that the 2nd part of the double weapon is treated as light so there are no heavy weapon penalties , somepleace else I read that dual feats don't affect the weapon at all.
Bottom line is the char sheet says 3 attacks. The animation sorta seems like I strike with both ends but I ain't sure if both actually deal damage. If so that would mean I have 6 damaging attacks per round Oo;.

Okay problem solved. Apparently the correct attacks weren't showed because ...the game wasn't up to date (installed nvn and started toying with it before installing HotU).
Clearly double weapons need the dual wielding feats - otherwise the attack bonus is shot to hell. So right now I have a pretty wierd - agile - wielding dire mace - combat cleric. And I'm happy.
