Aeggareth's curse. Help needed!!!

Post by Horrorshow »

So, I was gambling with Aeggareth in the maze level of Watcher's Keep. Minsc got silenced and Sir Anomen got a curse of some kind. I won the guy with 2-1 and proceeded with the game.

Now, I'm at the final seal and to my horror I can't seem to be able to remove either of these effects  I tried resting (for seven days even), I tried remove curse and I tried a full restoration from a temple, but Minsc and Anomen are still affected . Minsc isn't so big deal, but Anomen's strength of 8 really ruins the fun of the whole game.

I used the search function here and found a topic that mentioned something about "experience cap limiter". I've never used anything like that, I have a pure install of BG2:SoA+ToB on my PC. Is there anything I can do or should I just restart whole ToB, my savegames are beyond the point of the curse already... :(

You have to cast Remove Curse on both of them. Those affects are actually magical curses laid on them by the DoMT.

Which can be bought from one of the knights (whom sells clerical spells, among other things) at the top of watchers keep.

Isn't that also in a Cleric's Level 3 spell list?

Sort of, but in this case it didnt help. I had Jaheira memorize every healing/dispelling/curing spell available, but the effects couldnt be removed.

So I tried it at the temple, and -although even greater restoration didnt help- the remove curse spell actually removed the, well, curse :D

Edit: after checking the cleric's spell list, there is indeed the same remove curse spell. Maybe Horrorshow didnt have a cleric with him at the time, but only a druid, like I had...

I found that my PC was immune to all of the curses dealt out by the Deck of Many Things. I always gambled with experience (level drain?). It was either the cloak of deflection or the amulet given by the shadowthief leader; either way, if I lost the wager I never got level drained, and the deck's curses just bounced off as well.

Of course, in the end I got frustrated and killed the lot of them anyway... although I never did wind up with the Spectral Brand.
