Can't get game to install at all

Can't get game to install at all

I'm running Windows XP on my laptop and trying to install the game on it.

It reads the CD fine and starts the autoplay screen pops up perfectly.

I click install, and the CD drive spins for a while as if its about to start, but then nothing happens. I check the running processes and setup.exe is sitting there, using some memory, but 0% processor time.

I can install it just fine on my Win98 SE and Icewind Dale 2 installs just fine on my XP system (I got both games in the collector's edition package), so I'm at a loss for what could be the problem.

That's quite an odd problem. I'm running Win XP Pro on a desktop PC and it installs perfectly (yeah so it takes a long time but hey) Have you tried to install a different size? Sometimes that happens. Or maybe look for a patch?..
