KOTOR told me my video driver needed updating which I just did, Radeon 9800 Pro driver version 6.14.10.6444. Then when I redid the "scan hardware" the message said that my system exceeded the requirements but I still can not play.
The game launches only to the picture of the space ship and then restarts to the desktop.
My new Dell computer has hyper threading technology, I wonder if this could be the problem? Also has 800 MHX FSB & 875 chipset
Can not figure out how to disable it??

Game restarts to desktop at space ship photo
I had not tried to play KOTor before.
HT Technology does effect some games like Thief Gold, in order to
play I had to deactivate it.
But can;g even get far enough in KOTOR to try to do this.
I do have a legal game but wonder if a "no_CD fix" would work.
I really do not know much about this or where to get it but saw a message instructing another forum user to try it.

Patch is causing the problem
After a game re-install I was able to play but as soon as I installed the 1.03 patch I got the same problem..restarting at the desktop..Both before & after the patch KorOR config said my specs exceeded the min.
I noticed that the patch included a section to check for updated drivers for the Radeon 9800 Pro. As in my first post I did update the driver to 6.14.10.0237.
So what now? Do I have to play without the patch?
Any suggestions?
I wonder if I could edit the patch to remove this part?
