Here's another newbie question. What (if any) is the upper limit to how much the Heal spell will heal? I've only had it as high as 25 or 30, and the damage healed was around 5-8. Not nearly enough, when you have creatures doing 14pt hits.
Sir Edmund:"Should you obey the lord who asks you to put a village of innocents to the torch? Is that chivalrous? Is it noble?" Me:"It's a great way to get promoted, I know that much."
I tend to use a combination of potions. Get whatever heal spell to recover 10+ hp, use that between fights and for fights where i'm taking excess damage during the encounter, use potions.

I tend to do the same, except that I still have both Cervantes and Cortez in my party, and need to keep them alive. Very few potions affect party members, so I need to get the most bang for my skill points with this Heal spell
I tend park the in game help in a safe spot, clear the way then come back for them. I've never had a situation where any of them have assisted. Its just a waste of mana to try to keep them alive.
Really? I've found them to be a huge help, especially early on. Now that my combat skills are getting high, it does seem to be a bit of a burden. I've made it to Lvl 12, and only have a couple more quests to do before I take off for Montesomething or other (first time leaving Barcelona's surroundings).
