That will indeed be a very interesting game to watch... I'm fearing that the game we played against bulgaria was just a one day wonder... but I'm hoping it wasn't...
For ones I actually felt sorry with a team. Bulagaria seems such a social group with friendly players :(

I wanted Croatia to win, since France had SO much luck against England.

Well at least i'm happy that England beat the swiss. The swiss were unlucky to have a player sent off.
I still thing England have to play better, they are still lucky in soccer these days.

Well, I hate to say this, but hooligans have attacked in Portugal (this was before the second England game). Reading from yesterday's sports paper:
Hooligans attack in Portugal - in the second night of terror in Portugal, 34 people were arrested by the police and eight got injured. Hooligans, using the England shirts, threw bottles and chairs against the police in the same area of bars and restaurants where chaos happened with 200 fans on the night before.
Check it out! One of my earliest, and certainly, more creative threads! :)

I would have loved a win for Coratia. It would have matched my "prediction" for the tournament very well :D
The last chance Croatia had was major and should likely have resulted in a goal, but they were tired

But was fun to see the match - in the end of first half, France seemed content about 1-0 and then they croates came like a "bat out of hell" with the two early goals in second half.

I'm really would have liked to see that, but I thought france had won it in half time... so I only watched the last five minutes of the second half..

Boring game Denmark - Bulgaria 2 - 0. First half was good and Denmark got a well deserved goal minutes before the end. Second half saw the Danish team backing home and the Bulgarian team breaking into despair and apathy. They even got one player sent off for arguing with the referee. Denmark got a final goal on overtime. CE slept very well during second half :)

1-0 in half time, and unfortunately Italy earned it.... I'm hoping for a change of pace and match play in the second half...

Sweden - Italy: 1-1 after one of the weirdest goals I've ever seen. Zlatan Ibrahimovitch scored for Sweden with his heel high in the air. Italy clearly played better football than Sweden today, especially in the first half, but they backed home and allowed Sweden to put pressure towards their goal the last 20 minutes of the game.

Agreed - first half was good - second half was bad. I'd never thought the danish team would stack itself down in defence. That is so not their style, but I guess the team was told so to conserve strenght for the face off with Sweden. We were almost burned by that desicsion (as Italy got with the Swedes).

Although the result of the Sweden - Italy (1-1) match was the worst possible for us (Denmark), still congrats to the sweedes. "You" played good in the second half, but Italy deserved it. Very ineffective by them on many chances, and typical italian playing style to try and defend a 1-0 lead.... many teams get burned by such desisions, and they did indeed.

Now we are in for a exciting match between Sweeden and Denmark in the last round, because Italy will most likely beat Bulgaria that seems to bring nothing at all to this european tournament. Denmark needs a win to progress, and that can be hard to get (but not impossible :D )

We did not deserve 1-1 in that game but as many times before italy pulled back and lost their 1-0 lead... I wonder if they ever will learn... Well I should'nt complain as this draw feel just like a win :D

indeed that will be an interesting game, if italy does not loose or draw, in which case both sweden and denmark are going on, which should nat happen unless all of the italian team catch the flue on tueday...

Embarrasing of the Germans - need I say more

Also very good match between Holland and the Czech. Although it seemed as Holland simply stopped playing (good) football after they got their 2-0 lead after 20 minutes. But was danged nice footie of the Czech and their comeback, and I must (reluctant) admit it was deserved that they won 2-3 :)

A tie would have been correct for both, the Czech got more then they deserved.
Holland was also penalysed by the ref. We deserved a penalty and the red card was just wrong...

Guess this is it for us... :(

The ref was a bloody idiot. Everybody saw how Van Nistelrooy was being humped by the defender. That was just pathetic. Personal opinion the dutch were robbed. The ref was pathetic. I was disgusted by the end of the match. BBC made a good comment. This should be turned into a training video on how football should be played and what you shouldnt do as a ref.

Actually - the dutch still have a pretty good chance to advance to the quater final.

The Czech are going to face off against Germany, and they haven't excatly showed much (some good against Holland in first half, though - but not impressive) - and allthough I'm pretty sure that the Czech will not front their best players (giving them an extended break), I still think the germans will have difficulties getting a win there.
Also with Holland having Latvia in the last - they should very much get some points there and then Czech and Holland will go through.

The ref. might have prooved weak, but IMO Holland brought the result on themselves. It was like they almost stopped being aggresive and holding control of the game when they got their 2-0 lead. And regardless of weak/poor referies, they shouldn't have stopped. The Czech pushed on hard during a large part of the match and had many very qualified chances to score (as Holland also had some) but the dutch goalpost did save quite a few Czech shots, so all in all - I see the end result as quite fair. The Czech was just more sharp and better after the first 20 minutes it seemed.
