Hey guys! I need help creating my party. I have read dozens of guides that tell you how to create parties, but they are like 10 pages long. I want my party to be physical not magical. Can someone please list me the characters and stats that would make a really strong fighter party? Also, could I have the characters and stats of a strong magical party too?
THANKS!

maybe spoilerish
I'll give you a party i would like as physical not magical.
Fighter: human or dwarf, max str and con. shield and either axe or bastardsword.
Paladin row! dual to ranger early, get dual-wielding feat and amberdex. max str and con, 14 dex and 12 wis. focus longsword, shortsword offhand. Pick up Holy Avenger(chp 5)
Cleric of Tempus: Human, most combat cleric you get, gets focus in axe, max wis, con, 16 str, or whatever you like.
Barbarian: Half Orc, max out str con and dex, lower int and chr.
I like giving them hammer and shield, but they are great when using to-handed weapons, great-axe is POWER.
Rouge:Theifling, maybe dual to fighter at lvl 11, dual-wielding feat and amberdex. max dex, con, and give a usefull int. weapon finesee is a must. first few lvls use him at the back, bu after 7 or so he can move up an d tank a little
Sorcerer: Elf of some kind, pure non multiclass, max charisma and good con. Get combat casting ang spell penitration. Lots of offensive spells. BUT get dispel magic ans some ptotection spells for him self.
This is how i would play a physical iw2 game. But you might want to mdify tehm a little, these are NOT powergaming charachters

DO NOT multi the paladin cuz after you do u can never go up in level with himn again. have at least and no more then 12 dex, get him full plate armor, have two weapon fighting and ambidexterity. have him focus in longswords.
have a dwarf cleric of tempus not human
a sorcerer is not needed

"War does not determine who is right, it determines who is left"
As i said this is how i like it.
Just want to defend the multi paladin, only reason he has pally lvls is to use the holy avenger to full extent, i currenlty have have a paladin/ranger and he is my best guy. As for the 14 dex, that was a bummer from my side.
Okay never played thruogh with a dwarven cleric, but does his race skills mkae up for them selvs when being a cleric.
I do not ever dream of leaving an arcane spellcaster behind, even when playing pure fighting, just can't do without some of the spells, and my cleric is always sa stuck in combat that he doesn't have time to cast all the spells needed.
As you might see Raumoheru i didn't like being second best at anyhting, but your experience probly beats mine.

Personally, I think that if you are going the dual wielding route with a paladin you should stick with fighter4/Paladin x, with Helm as your order. Dual classing to a ranger is a risky way of doing things since you'll only be able to use light armour when you dual wield.
Cat's grace will get you a maximum of 5 to dex, items you use to pump dexterity will detract from your overall strength. You'd honestly be better served to stick with a sword and shield through the normal campaign, and then switch to dual wielding for Heart of Fury (AC is really quite a pointless thing to invest in in HoF since almost everything will have an astronomical increase to attack bonus). +2-6 to AC with your highest attack bonus instead of one extra attack at -2 or -4 is a good tradoff, especially since you really won't have the extra points to use on Dex as a Paladin. If you start with Dex of 10, by level 4+ your mages will be able to cast Cat's Grace and Bull's strength to buff you to full AC in heavy armour anyway. The only thing you miss out on is the "Dodge" feat, which is quite useful, but not as much as extra wisdom and charisma.
Human and Aasimar are unquestionably the best choices, with +1 ECL disadvantage vs awesome stats to consider.
For a combat based party I would recommend:
1) Half Orc Fighter 4/Barbarian x
2) Shield Dwarf Cleric of Tempus
3) Human Paladin of Helm x/Fighter 4
4) Wild Elf Fighter/Rogue (or conversely a Ranger/Rogue, but even split between the 2 classes)
5) Human Sorceror.
The sorceror isn't necesary, but will be great at buffing your party, using low level spells like sleep, chromatic orb and mage armour and occasionally using some damage spells.
My favourite magic based party looked like this:
1) Human Fighter 4/Barbarian x (Half orc would have been more effective, but I wanted this guy as a recreation of an old PnP character)
2) Shield Dwarf Stormlord of Talos
3) Human Paladin 2/Morninglord of Lathander x
4) Moon Elf Rogue/Wizard
5) Human Sorceress
6) Half Elf Sorceress (Human or Aasimar would have been more effective but again, recreating an old character)
That party whomped and stomped their way through the campaign. You only need to have 30%/70% rogue/mage levels to open most locks and disarm most traps in the game, so I didn't miss out no anything. If the tank had been a dwarf, he'd have been really awesome, as it was he was almost unstoppable anyway. The Clerics were a great mixture of combat prowess, healing and offense due to their domains, the dwarf in particular. My sorcerors handled crowd control, damage and buffing between them....with invisibility and mass invisibilty, my rogue could get away without upgrading the stealth skills at all.
