Accidently Destroyed Key NPC - Please Help

Post by Deathmagus »

Ok, I was in Ashbury, and I remembered a book that you need to steal. Since I'm not a thief (level 27 half-ogre), I just bashed the barrel on the dock and ran like hell. I get out of town, save, and go back in, only to find that one of my NPCs (Magnus, I think: darn him) has KILLED Edward Teach, who I need to get to the Isle of the Damned. I'm not a mage, and Virgil is a long way from getting resurrect, so how can I remedy the situation? Are there any resurrect scrolls that can be found? The only one I've ever found in all 3 of my games is the one you need to resurrect Virgil. Did I just seriously screw my game? Or can some genius out there help me out

Ok, I used a game hack and revived him, but how to get him not to hate me anymore?

Does he hate you, as in won't talk to you at all? Because if he'll still communicate, you can give hiim gifts.

He has (0) (hatred), and attacks me on sight, even if I resurrect him, run out of town, and show up a week later. I've tried charm on him, but that doesn't fix an aggressive stance. I can't talk to him, and charm's not working...what else is there?

Nothing I know of, sad to say. I'm unaware of any editor that lets you change the disposition of NPCs.

NPC and stealing

Remember your F keys 1-5 F5 will tell your NPC to cancel any attack. Next stealing anywhere requires carful observation for anyone wandering near you and only picking a lock or killing a clerk or breaking a berrel when the coast is clear. Use the highest resolution you can and a high PE will help move the screen around to see if someone is waliing toward or away. If you have Magnus around have wait away before acting on any subject. You won't have to put up with his attitude.

Note the book is not that helpfull. Just go to Island of Dispair and battle the theives in the pit.
