Stuck in sphere

I attacked the Mage, I think his name starts with an L, and now he just lays there as I try to hack him to pieces. I read in a walkthrough that I should have talked to him. Did anyone take my route? If so, how do I get out of the sphere?

After you attack him he is supposed to admit that he was posessed by a demon, but your attack has allowed him to regain some control. He then tells you to go outside the sphere(by the way you came in; the sphere is no longer in Athkatla) and get a demon heart to power the sphere so it can get back to Athkatla. Go outside and get a demon heart. It may work, I'm not sure. I think that is where you are up to. There are three demons, all have hearts that you can use, but thay are worth 10 000 XP each, so I suggest killing them all. Then take the heart to the control room. I forget where that is, sorry. I did it a while ago. It's a room with two entrances, which are beyond two rooms which have fire creatures and ice creatures respectivley, I THINK. Anyway, once you get there, there are several groups of golems you face, so that's how you'll know you're there. The power generator is a big thing in the middle.
