Most OVERPOWERED High Level Ability
Spike Traps are really overpowered... and you can Sleep/Set Traps/Sleep/Set Traps, etc. until you have enough to kill the drake once he turn hostile... that's pretty stupid.
BG1 was a great game for thieves, they were well-balanced. In BG2, they can be cheesy because of those traps you can set. You can (almost) go trough the entire game by laying traps and running.

That's another way the Vecna Robe is so cheesy - you can cast almost any spell, even mid-combat, with it on. In fact, it's likely you can even cast those ADHW spells. Your silly melee opponants rarely fight you with elemental melee weapons, and since you are stoneskinned...Oh, yes. But I just can't NOT use my spells if I'm a mage

AFAIK the lich Vecna only dropped an eyeball, a hand and a robe, and only the robe is in the game... Unless you're playing with an added-items mod.
Edit @ Brynn: the robe can be bought from Deirdre (Adventurers Mart), but you need to install the bonus cd merchants file. I got it from http://www.sorcerers.net .

No, the lich Vecna is not in the game. His hand and eye are legendary artifacts in D&D that give you great power if you replace your own hand or eye with them (a bit off topic, but there's a very funny story about a "head of Vecna" http://www.hut.fi/~vesanto/link.fun/stupid.pcs.html ).
Techinacally, the bonus merchants are not mods since they were in the released game (but only in the Collector's Edition). There are 2, Deidre in the Adventurer's Mart who sells some of Balduran's items and Planescape:Torment related items; and Joluv in the Copper Coronet who sells items related to Icewind Dale.

There are three kinds of people that no one understands: geniuses, madmen and guys that mumble.

It lowers the casting speed by 4, and adds some other minor resistances (10% magic resistance, AC bonus, perhaps a save bonus). The lowered casting speed is very good, you can get off your high-level spells like timestop in 4-5 seconds. Use it with Amulet of Power + Timestop + Improved Alacrity to empty your spellbook in 2 rounds...

Actually, you don't. The character files are already there in the game you just have to make them. Turn on the cheats and do create creature.
CLUAConsole: CreateCreature ("wmart1")
CLUAConsole: CreateCreature ("wmart2")
That's both Deidre and Joluv, and you don't have to download anything. Just make them appear next to Ribald, (atleast that's where I put them) save, then turn off the cheats.

(sigh)
Shouldn't we get a FAQ for this
Anyway, open your BG2 folder (most likely #:\Program Files\Black Isle\BG2 - SoA) and look for the file baldur.ini. Open it with notepad or a similar text program, and under the [Program Options] tab, add the line Debug Mode=1. Then, ingame, press Ctrl+Space to open the console, and use the following codes to create creatures or items:
CLUAConsole:CreateItem("") or
CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("")
Full lists can be found here:
Creatures
Items
Eg if i forgot where i put my Daystar sword (actually did that once) and i desperatly wanted it back, the code would be
CLUAConsole:CreateItem("SW1H31")
And if i then would want to summon a lich to try the blade, i'd have to use
CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("LICH01")
This is only for pc though, don't know if it works on macs. Hope that helps

Well you can also use SK if you want, that is for things like creating fighter dualed assasins and such, also has all capabilities of CLUA:Console
Shadowkeeper
As for the wmart items being in there already when they made the game... that was just a clever marketing scheme to try to get you to buy the "collectors edition". Fortunately, most people just uploaded the pveride files and the defunct Black Isle eventually capitualated and just let you have it for free.
For the Robe of Vecna being more powerful than the artifacts themselves... I disagree, if you look at pnp D&D DM's guide and look at the ideas for the items, you can see they're artifacts for a good reason. If you don't think they're powerful enough, well... if your the DM (or GM) you can just make it better, stronger, yeah.
UserUnfriendly...Since your pretty much the undisputed master of cheese, do you think you could post that website about cheese and such in the stickies? I can't find it there, and I haven't yet tried out EVERY cheesy combo yet.
Oh yeah, Brynn, shouldn't you give Nietzsche some credit for that quote >.> ?
