help how do I get new skills

I just started playing and I cant figure out how to get new skills...It says I have 30 points to use...I just cant seem to figure out how to use them...Can I get some help

there should be a + in the skill box (magic, its in the top of branch) click the + with the left click and it will add 1 point...

grrr...what am i doing wrong...Ok I see the + sign but left or right clicking it does nothing....Why is something so simple becoming a pain in my ass....lol.....Please help me if you have any more ideas
