Hidden Quests
Hidden Quests
I have questions about the hidden quests:
1) The secret village on the northern shore...did I just kill off the smurfs?
2) I am currently near the end of the game and cleaning up lost quests. What do I do in "the [somethinorother] Deep" just north of the Bedokin villiage? I am standing in front of the forge and have no idea what to do there.
3) How should I have found out about the location of Vooriden? The Gun master alludes to people of Halcyon in Rosebourough but there is noone there from the order. I found Vooriden by accident. (I am referring to the village south east of Tarant, I hope I am using the right name.
4) I keep hearing about this ultimate throwing weapon. Who has information about it?
5) Stillwater...did everyone go to Jason's Furniture in Neptune City or something? After the orgy, noone is around except the dodge master.

1. Thats ok there are some other secret places like the one north of Stillwater.
2. The Bangellian Deeps is part of the quest for dead ghost Stringy Petes Boat to Thanatos without any cost. Put the evil sword you found into the oven but without Petes Quest you don't get points. Only the Vooriden Petes Quest can be done early.
3. Vooriden is part of the Blessing Quest but is not part of the main story. But if you do the quest you get 100 extra heath and fatigue. It is also part of the Stringy Petes quest for his boat. But this one you can do whats needed in Vooriden before talking to Stringy Pete. The Temple there is of the Halcyon Alter.
4. The throwing weapon is chuckrum. But I don't like them because they can get lost at anytime they are thrown. This one is in the Lair of Bellerogrim.
5. If you checked the time is was probably too early. Advance your time to 7:00 AM and people should apear. The Stillwater Alter is also part of the Blessing Quest. Info for the Blessing Quest is in Tarant University.
If you read about the Gods in Tarant University you will learn about some of the quests but others can be found only by talking to everyone you encounter. Go in every house and store. Some side quests are tartgeted for specific skills like finding the lost hunter from Black Root. Others like Liams Quest can only be found by talking to his mother in Black Root. Every town has side quests. Ashbury a man wants help moving several large boulders. In Tarant there are six or seven side quest. The Half-Ogre Island quest is worthless. In Caladon a man needs help solving a livestock problem. I Caladon someone is murdering the pleasure women and the inspector need help. Some side quests are evil or involve stealing so read carefully. Do not try a side quest if you don't have the skill for it. NPCs don't help here.

Amen
Amen on the skills issue. That is one of the things I don't like about this game...too many things you can fail to do just because you didn't know you needed a higher skill, like the Two Stones quest. I have tried to talk to everyone, but I don't always talk to the guards and dockmen. Yes, I know about Jared, but I only know because of the walkthrough.
If I understand you, I would have learned about Voriden by going to the Blackroot bar and finding captain Teach to get to Thanatos.
Unfortunately I had amassed $200,000 by that time and just bought a boat.
About the lost throwing weapons, I've had the same chakarum since Tarant and I have never lost a throwing weapon. I would like to hear more about it. I was referring to the Arial Decapitator. I never found anything on it in the game
So...do the Smurfs play a role in the game? Maybe one of the evil quests? They are the Smurfs, right? bunch of purpple guys...mushroom houses...dead wizard with a cat...

Ah yes, the famous Aerial Decapitator . It's held by an old blind master, and his location is well hidden. As a matter of fact, his location is INVISIBLE, as in there will NOT be a little pip on the world map when you move past it, the way other areas like towns (Tarant, Caladon) and caves and such have. His exact location is 750 West, 556 South. Once you get near him, there'll be a sound effect (I can't remember exactly what it was, something like a gong and then somebody says something, apparently in reference to some movie). In any case, once you go to that EXACT location (750, 556) leave the world map, even though the world map says you're in the middle of nowhere, and then look around on the adventure map. The Old Blind Master will be using the Aerial Decapitator to cut the heads off a bunch of chickens (nice guy, eh? Guess he's bitter). Kill him and take his weapon, nobody seems to care. Tada! You've got one of the best thrown weapons in the game! (although some claim the weapon you get from the throwing master quest is better)

Blind Master
Hey, thank you.
Just out of curiosity how was I SUPPOSED to find out about him.
PS: I found the book in the second level of the Bellogsian Dragon Cave. ( I know, I keep having fun with the names because I don't have the game, the book, or the map on this computer.) I was told that if I go to the Ancient Temple, I would find the skeleton of that dragon mage guy (kraktuu?) and have to pour dragon blood from the dragon pool on the guy to release his pain or something. I went to the pool, but I never found the skeleton. Where is this guy? Southwest is the chest. South east is the bossroom. Northeast is the two pit chests, Northwest is the altar. Am I in the wrong location? I checked each skeleton on the ground and hanging from the wall.
The spell, speak with dead...who does it work on besides the professor and the Schyler dad? Does it trigger any quests?

Where to find the dude for the dragon's blood: well, unfortunately my memory's pretty rusty on that. I can't remember exactly where but I think it might be somewhere between Tarant and Ashbury. It's called "Forgotten Temple", or something like that (don't quote me on that though! I can't be sure...).
As for the spell "Raise Spirit", no it really doesn't serve too much of a purpose. In my opinion the only spell worth getting in darke necromancy is Harm. Anyway, the only other quest that Raise Spirit really did anything for is the quest involving the murders in Caladon. Instead of asking around what the dude who was killing all the women looked like, you can raise the spirits of the dead women and ask them. It really doesn't matter though, because you wouldn't get any more information.

1. OK This is a single and not connected to any quest. If you did not see any more creatures then I'll say you got them.
2. The bangellian Deep is the String Pete Quest to solve problem 3. Don't lose the dark sword. It will drop your alignment by 750 points if you use it. But only when you get Pete's quest to put the sword into the furnace. Without the quest you can't put the sword into the furnace. So put back into the chest so it will be there to satify Pete's quest.
3. Vooriden is also part of the Blessing Quest. And its name is in the book you can get in Tarant that describe the gods and location by name of the alter location. Its good to find it because the Torrin rock quest you can bring a stone before getting the quest. Its also part of Stringy Pete's quest for his boat. But this one and only this one can be done before talking to Stringy Pete.
4. Throwing weapons are available from armories and from some sites you may have not found yet. Someone said in a previous message that a site at 500x700 has the best throwing weapon but I could not find it so I think you need throwing skill before it shows up. But a chukram is available in Lair of Bellerogrim plus a lot of gold.
5. What was the time or maybe I'll say for me after the orgy it was 5:26 so I advanced the time to 7:26 and went to the armory and got the quest to find the lost wizard. After that I got the quest for the ruby and then the amulet for the herbologist in Shrouded Hills. So all people I needed to talk to were there. Remember to monitor time because some people are not up until 7:00. In fact you can't find Stringy Pete in Black Root's bar before 7AM.

Dragon Blood dude
Opalsence, if you are referring to the Temple where the Altar (Morindal?) is, I am starting to believe I might have killed the character in question because I cannot find ANYONE in the temple. WHERE in the temple was the guy? It's only one floor and not alot of chambers.
Tom, Thanks

Oh, there are a few provisions of courthe: It mutht be a black eye cauthed by a thtampede of wild elephanths, in the confineth of your own home, between the hourths of 3:55 and 4:00 PM, on the fourthh of July, of any year, during a hail-thtorm.

Ok. I went to 750w 556s. I didn't find anything either on the world map or in the adventure map. I walked one screen in each direction and found nothing. Any other ideas? I moved up and down the map to and from 700 x 550 and found nothing. Should I give up.

It is there, I found it at 751, 558. You just have to run along the cliff side closely looking for a passage that opens up to the bottom right of screen.
On the world map place your pointer between the O and the U of mountain and run around once you get there. One screen's distance in each direction on the game screen is hardly what I'd consider exploring...

I'm a lawyer, not a starship
MOST other sites have a road or a trail leading to the target. Of course that is how I missed Mannox's vault(I thought the numbers lead to Bolo's Altar...and they sort of do).On the world map place your pointer between the O and the U of mountain and run around once you get there. Ancient Temple
Draw a matrix South of the small range below the Lair of Bellerogrim. There is not a distictive geological feature near this temple so I have to scan for it each game. You have to get very close to it before it shows up on the World Map. Just keep scanning its the only way.
When you go into the maze of passages take the first left and open all locked doors. A key exists and it may be close I don't remember. The skeleton gives you the quest to get blood for him.
Go to the Dungeon of the Dragon Pool to get the blood. The flask you need is next to the pool. Scan North of the lone bridge and slightly East. Run your scan lines and waypoints to cover max ground.

Tom, I appreciate all the help. I've won the game, now I'm playing Car Arcanum. When I get around to the temple, I'll try NOT to kill everything there.
