Adjusting damage values in TES:CS

Post by moltovir »

I picked up Lilarcor, the talking sword, a long time ago, and i loved his banter and remarks, but there's one thing i really hate about it: it's just to overpowered. I'm lvl 13 now, and having a 20-80 damage sword ruins the fun somewhat. Is there any way to edit the damage values to a more normal value, like 10-45, without messing up the experience-script of the sword?

Good question--but have you contacted the mod's creator to ask this? They're the one most likely to know how to help you.

You open the TES CS and open both the Morrowind master file and the mod file. Find the weapons tab, and find the weapon you're looking for (you can arrange the items by name in game by clicking on "Name"), right click on it, and choose edit. You can edit the weapon damage there.

If you want to edit its enchantment, you can find the weapon, and scroll until you see a column named "enchanting". It will tell you what enchantment it has on. Then go to the "Enchanting" tab and find the enchantment and edit it like you would with weapons.

Thanks! I changed the best-attack damage to 9-48, but it is Lilarcor after all so i added an 1-8 fire damage and 1-8 frost damage enchantment :)

I decided to redo Lilarcor completely, but i need some advice. This is what i have atm:

Original - Remake (all remakes keep their nicknames, only the +# in the name changes)
(all original ones have a disintegrate weapon enchantment of.... 0 points!)

Lilarcor +3 - Lilarcor, 1-16 dmg max, Rally Creature/Humanoid 1-5 pts for 5 secs on hit
Lilarcor +4, Blade of Ginsu - Lilarcor +1, 3-22 dmg max, bypasses normal weapon resistance (all next versions have this), Rally C/H 1-10 pts for 5 secs
Lilarcor +5, Holy Avenger - Lilarcor +2, 5-28 dmg max, Rally C/H 5-15 pts for 5 secs, 1-6 Frost Damage
Lilarcor +6, Blessed Nightmare - Lilarcor +3, 6-32 dmg max, Rally C/H 5-20 pts for 6 secs, 1-4 poison damage for 2 secs
Lilarcor +7.3, Work in Progress - Lilarcor +4, 8-36 dmg max, Rally C/H 10-20 pts for 7 secs, 2-10 fire damage
Lilarcor +8, Dark Sunblade - Lilarcor +5, 10-40 dmg max, Rally C/H 10-25 pts for 8 secs, Light 50 pts on self, Blind 25 pts for 4 secs
Lilarcor +9, Monoblade - Lilarcor +6, 11-45 dmg max, Rally C/H 15-35 pts for 9 secs, weakness to schock 5-20% for 5 secs, 3-12 schock damage
Lilarcor +10, Grand Ass-Kicker - Lilarcor +7, 12-52 dmg max, Rally C/H 15-45 pts for 10 secs, Absorb Health 5-15 pts, Absorb Magicka 10-20 pts, Absorb Fatigue 15-25 pts

Do you think these values and damage ratings are too high or too low or do you think there are better enchantements to use? Any comments are appreciated :)

Too high, waaay too high. Hell, even with the original values plus the Absorb Health 5-15 pts of Lilacor +10, the thing is godlike, because Absorb Health is the one attack that always goes through.

I'd suggest at most keeping the original damage values and removing all the magical effects. Just my POV.

The original damage value of the sword (before i edited it) was 20-80. That's what i call overpowered :) But you're right, perhaps i should delete the Absorb Health enchantement.
