Being an assassin

Post by WereWolf »

Well, i decided to play an assassin character but i havesome questions:
1-Which skills, perks, stats must i pick while creating the character?
2-Is being an assasin useful? I dunno if there are assassination quests or a guild of assassins etc.

Well - I would figure that an assassin would attack with meele weapons or hand to hand, so either of thoese two would be good.
Sneak is always neasecary to be able to sneak up on your prey.

There are many perks that increase both meele or hand to hand damage and your stealth abilities, so check the manual for thoese.

As for the viability - well - I don't doubt it would be possible to go through the game and enjoy it with such a character.

Well - that depends on what you mean.
There are a few quests where you need to kill other people which could constitue assassinating, but there is not class specific assassin quests as far as I recall (There are no classes in Fallout, only skills).

there are a few scenarios where you have to kill someone though. My favorite way of killing people is to plant tnt on them with the steal skill. You can even plant tnt on the ground without alerting people if you put it in a bag before you drop it. putting several tnts in a bag first is also an easier way to plant it on someone without getting caught.

Fallout Dictionary, entry 7, letter A: Assasination: The art, or act of injecting an unwanted NPC with an overdose of Stimpacks in an attempt to end his/her life with the resulting aftershock of the drug.

An assasin character can be very fun, either pick unarmed or melee, then get a super-sledge or mega power fist.

Now the early stages will be hard so you should get throwing and some grenades or small guns and a decent shotgun or gauss wepaon early on. Get awareness, quick pockets, silent running, silent death and slayer, they will be your "must need" perks. Your tag skills should be Unarmed/Melee (only pick one, not both, it's a waste.) Lockpick and speech (to talk your way out of sticky situations, and lockpick is just plain handy in FO2.

I don't really have time to work out stats and traits but If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say 5-6 strength (you'll get a mem-mod and power armour anyway) high perception, rather low endurance, decent charisma (around 6), fairly high intellect, fairly high luck, gifted and POSSIBLY small frame (although it will be difficult because one would assume that being an assasin would mean being a loner, so no sulik or cassidy to carry your **** around for you.)

This is just my advice, it'll be damn hard to get good, but probablly worth it, good luck.

Where is this Fallout Dictionary?
