Help with corrupt file

hey guys im having problems with my KOTOR i keep getting an error and it closes and returns to desktop it says something my file is corrupt and is shows this korr_m36aa_s.rim

What's the exact message you receive when the game closes?

well it happens whe i go to the valley door in the sith academy and it happens in the water world on the east door i think but the message says:
Error Message 1

Have you run Chkdsk, as it suggests?

That isn't going to help you if you have corrupt files. The message you received may have only offered the name of one file, but there could be more. And if you have data corruption, it could affect other programs.

I suggest you speak with whomever set up your computer, in order to find out what utility you've got to check for file corruption. Knowing your CPU, memory, hard drive size, and the last time you defragmented will help, as well.

Looks like you are running WinXP. You can go to your hard drive (from My Computer), right-click on it and select "Properties". It'll bring up a window with a bunch of information...click on the "Tools" tab and press the "Check Now" button under Error Checking. you can figure out how to run it from there.

I bet you'll need to re-install KotOR, as well.
