Weaponmaster beyond L7 - waste of time?

Hi,

Am just taking my first really close look at the Weaponmaster prestige class and am trying to figure out why I would take weaponmaster beyond L7.

For an additional three levels you only get a lousy +1 on your weapon of focus.

It seems to me that you could be doing so much more with those three levels. For instance my current character's base class is fighter so the extra three levels represents and extra feat and a half.

Am I missing something?

well a fighter 10 weapon master 30 is better then a fighter 33 and weaponmaster 7

i think it is worth it

because you get like another +5 to all attacks

and a bonus feat for the weapon master every 3 levels

you would get more bonus feats as a fighter.

however, the epic weaponmaster can use his bonus feats to select another weapon of choice, provided he has weapon focus in it.

Aaaah - I had missed the 'Epic Superior Weapon Focus' feat at L13 which will give +6 to attack by L40 (assuming F7WM33)

But a F7WM33 will get 14 bonus feats whereas a F33WM7 will get 18 bonus feats, so the question is whether 4 additional feats is better than +6 to attack and I guess that this depends on

Of course, in reality I'm actually playing this as a roleplay character, not always making the optimal number crunching choices, so it's more of a question of interest than anything else ....

Also, don't count on getting to Clvl 40, or basing your number crunching on that level. In the base scenario, you are only going to get up to around 27th level, and most of the online worlds don't support PCs over 30th (at least, they didn't when I last looked).

After a while, playing a PC which can just smack anything down, including the most powerful of monsters, without even raising a virtual sweat, just gets dull. At that point, I usually start a new PC!

Fighter = Lots of feats
Weapon Master = High AB (though not as high as Arcane Archer)

Many people (in pvp) go for ten levels because of the AB boost, and just as many take 7 levels, so really there isn't much of a difference unless you are some kind of pally build.

It is impossible to atain Fighter 7/Weaponmaster 33
Since you have to be a 10th level coreclass character to be a epic level prestige class

I almost exculsively play pvp (level 40 mostly, occasionallylevel 5) now.
