Red Dragon Scale Question

Post by Vanion »

Hello all...

I'm without a PC for a month, and when I get access to one again I'm stoked to fire up a new BG 2 game (lends itself so well to replays). Just thinking over the old armours, I was wondering whether the Red Dragon Scale counts as Full Plate, or as Scale Mail armour, because I was thinking of playing a Barbarian on this run through and wondered if it would be available to him. If not, meh, there's plenty of good chain available, but it would be cool if I could kit him out in the stuff and a ring of fire resistance, and then have the mages use him as bait for fireballs :)

If someone knows the answer or could please use Shadowkeeper to test it for me (I'd to it myself, but lack of PC), I'd be much obliged. Thanks in advance.

For a "bait" I used to like a berserker with Dragon helm, Red dragon scale armor, perhaps a potion or two and a two handed sword. But for a Barbarian you'll need a chain mail, and there is one near the shadow dragon, if I"m not mistaken, not to mention the Shadow dragon outfit that will make your Barbarian become the center of attention in all raids and parties. ;)
Flesh to stone ain't permanent, it seems.

Ah well, should work out alright :)

The berserker is a pretty similar option, but damage resistance at high levels is VERY tempting. Still, I could always dual class the berserker to Cleric (iconic Tempuran), so that's an option to keep in mind.

Thanks for the quick repsonses, guys.

Are you sure it's full plate?

That's not how it's listed by Gamebanshee's item list. They list it as scale, I believe.

EDIT: Yup - confirmed.

Not that that makes a difference as to your question. I don't think barbarians can use scale either.
