Does anyone know how many skill points each class is supposed to get per level as a base? I have aHuman Sorceror that gets 3 points per level with 8 intelligence and a human Bard with 12 Int. that gets 4 per level. I thiught each class got 4 per level modified for Int. and Human getting 1 extra per level.
By rights my bard should get 6 points per level! This makes planning your stats a bit of a pain. also, only your base Int. counts so if you have items that boost Int. when you level up they don't count
Anyone know what the base amounts are?

This is from another website posted by one of the developers before the game was released. Its labeled as subject to change. For example, the first part of the post is a list of skills that definitely changed before the game was released. BTW, does anyone know what they mean by "non-canonical"?

Elves gain +2 to Search, Gnomes gain +2 to Lore: Alchemy, Half-Elves gain +1 to Search, and Halflings gain +2 to Move Silently (no, they don’t get the size bonus to Hide because they don’t suffer any the penalties of Small size).
We are still working out the details of this system. For instance, what happens when a player creates a Human Rogue with an 18 Intelligence. Stuff like that. We will have skill resolution details later on.

This one should get:
[8 (base) + 4 (INT)] x 4 + 2 (human) = 50
just another 3 points to add:
1. in IWD2 INT increasing items effect skill-points!
2. you always get at least 1 SP per level even for a fighter with 3 INT means a human fighter with INT 3 gets 2 SP per level !
3. regarding the multiplier on the 1st level - you should always consider to take the class with highest base SP as 1st one for MC PCs!

these are definetly incorrect - at least for D&D 3.5 CRPGs (IWD2, TOEE) !

I think neocool00 has it right for the most part. Only thing is that my Human Sorceror with 8 int I think gets 3 skill points per level.
I don't think items that boost your Int. give you skill point bonuses on level up (though I hope they do!). I remember testing this with the Xvimian Fang dagger.
A little annoying, but at least it makes Int. a valuable attribute for non all classes.

It seems that the data I found are the same found by Neocoo.
To Heidrek: you should check, because just yesterday my sorc. had a level up and with 16 int. he got 4 skill points.
Maybe is something related to some mod you have installed, I think I remember of a mod that raise the amount of skill points you get.
Well, the Bard and Fighter numbers are right. I've got a Human Fighter/Bard with 12 Int. and he get 4 S.P when he levels up as Bard and 3 for Fighter. I'll have a look at the Sorc. in my other party and do a few comparisions.
Any idea why the amount of S.P. is so restricted in IWD2?
