Yes, he may stay at the lake outside, cause I guess he is too big for an indoor glass container...
What's the problem with the past tense of "buy"?
Hah! I read it as 'brought' and thought to myself:
"Wait, you can't say 'I had better brought', that would be incorrect. The present tense of the second verb should be used instead"

What I should have thought was:
"Wait, you can't say 'I had better bought', that would be incorrect. The present tense of the second verb should be used instead"
Then I should have said:

"buy Image"

I edited my original post so that it makes (more) sense.
In reality, I was just looking for an excuse to use the eng101 smiley. Please forgive me :(

edit: What, another animal? The heathens are quickly becoming zoo-keepers :p
Vicsun, I certainly agree with your assertion that you are an unpleasant person. ~Chanak

What's with all the pets all of a sudden? For once, I find myself agreeing w/Vicsun...oooh dear. This isn't good.
I sincerely wish we could re-consider this plan from a perspective that involved pants.

Try feeding him the fish food. That'll be grusome enough :D
Mag: Don't remember much at all of last night do you?
Me: put simply.... No :D
Mag: From what I put together of your late night drunken ramblings? Vodka, 3 girls, and then we played tic-tac-toe and slapped each other around.

Isn't good? Why? Anyway, we've only got two pets so far, so opening the zoo might be a 50-year plan...

He's trying to say that the correct sentence would be: "'I had better buy".

Well that's just wrong.

I had better buy indicates that I will do it in the future.
Example: I upset Brynn and she lets me know this. At that moment I think to myself; "I had better (go) buy her some flowers." --> To resolve this situation and thus I go to buy flowers in the future.

"I had better bought her flowers then" Indicates something I had better done instead of what I did.
Example: I bought Brynn a goldfish but she doesn't like it. Later I hear that she likes flowers. So I think to myself; "I had better bought her flowers then". --> I realise afterwards that flowers would have been a better choice then a goldfish.

Just an example naturally. I know you like Beatrix Brynn. :)

Well, I just "translated" Vicsun's words to you :)

But what about "I should've bought flowers" ? :D
If that's still not correct, I demand a native speaker :D

Oh yes, I definitely like Beatrix, b/c she's beautiful and quiet :)

That's correct too. It means the same thing as "I had better bought her flowers".

Or are you simply giving hints that you want flowers? :D
