Help with "500 lbs of fur and claws"

Post by freejack13 »

Ok, I just watched Nines get his ass kicked by a werewolf (god, I wish they would have created a werewolf game) and am now being chased around in circles by one myself.

Needless to say it kept catching up to me and kicking my ass. My blades don't do any good and of course my fortitude of 3 is completely useless. I tried going into the building that Nine's recommended however the blasted thing just tears through the walls like they weren't even there. I managed to survive the 3:30 once and then made my way to the tram (with 500 lbs of pissed off werewolf on my ass) and it didn't appear to be there, nor did I find a way to get passed the fence.

I was about 15 seconds "late" getting inside the tram building - meaning the timer ran out and it was another 15 or so seconds before I got to it.

Any help would be great. Is this "god mode" time? hah

Run

Yep, I ran around too. I had the same problem with the tram not being there, but I found that if I waited long enough I would hear the tram arrive. Only then could I run in and escape the were.

Once you are inside the building and the timer is off, you need to wait a few more seconds... Could be hard if you share the building with an angry, big, dog.

Here is what worked for me:

-Once the timer starts run to that huge boulder.
-Get around it.There should be some trees
-Now just stand in the trees and watch the weredoggy go nuts because he can't reach you.
After the 3 minutes were over the werewolf was out of sight and i could just walk into the building. No sweat.

***SPOILER**** Squeeze him

Took a bunch of reloads to figure this one out but worth extra points:
1. Run and hide in trees opposite mansion
2. Werewolf rages and breaks down doors of mansion.
3. Run through mansion to little building behind mansion.
4. Throw power?? Switch.
5. Run in mansion and up platform, throw switch to open telescope door.
6. Run to behind mansion with werewolf in chase and up stairs with werewolf behind you.
7. Throw switch and doors close and mash werewolf to death.

got through this a different way .. similar to hide behind something where the werewolf goes nuts and can get at you.. and wait until cable car arives

but your post rtwitty sounds like what you are meant to do .. as Nines tells you .."we need to get to that building" - well done in finding and posting that tactic

edit : *spoiler*

rtwitty's FAQ could also alter a later scene with Nines .. if you choose that path later in the game..

I-ve found a working trick to beat the werewolf part without being touched at all, after nine got cathed by the dog, just start run like hell to the building where the elevator is, just open the door and run past the elevator and go till the end of the corridor and saty on the farest left corner, just stay crouched there untill the end of the 5 mins, u-ll see the wolfy tryng to get to u, but he is just stuck there and will never get to u :)

Niles was right - just run! I ran the whole time. First I put on Blood Shield, then ran like crazy all around the perimeter of the area until the clock ran out. Then I kept running as I waited to hear the tram pull in and stop. After the tram stopped, I headed to the tram building and only had a little trouble as I was trying to enter the tram - those doors open out, not in.

Maximum experience

Freejack, there's a way to kill the werewolf and get the maximum experience possible in that area. It's kind of tough, but definitely doable, because my Ventrue was able to do it. (Of course, I had a 5 in Fortitude that I kept up the whole time, but I know this would still be possible without the Fortitude.) You said you had a 3 Fortitude, though, so make sure to keep that active!

Run into the observatory building and through a few of the rooms. There's a door in one of the rooms that leads out to the back of the building. Go out that door and run over to the building in the distance. That building controls the power to the observatory, and there is a control switch on the outside. Flip that switch and run like mad back into the observatory.

Now go into the room of the observatory that is just underneath the dome. There are some stairs and a platform at the top of the stairs that has a few computers on it and also an on/off switch. Once the power is turned on, this switch opens and closes the dome. Flip the switch on and then run outside the door that just opened onto the observatory deck.

Once the werewolf has followed you outside (and he will!) you'll want to get back inside before he does. I found it worked best if you jumped off the platform and ran around on the grass for a few seconds before climbing the stairs and running back inside. Once you run back inside, go directly back to the on/off switch that opens the dome. As the werewolf makes its way toward the doorway, flip the switch to the "off" position. The werewolf needs to be right at the doorway or starting to come through the doorway as you do this. The door will close as the werewolf continues to try to come after you, and he will be crushed in the doorway! The timer will stop as soon as the werewolf is crushed, so no matter how much "time" was left until the gondola arrived, it will be there now.

End result: dead werewolf and maximum experience! Now you can take a leisurely stroll back to the gondola and enjoy the view. :D

As I'm sure you have discovered, the werewolf will be hot on your tail the entire time. He will probably catch you a few times and swat some of your health away, but just keep going! You're going to have to run from him anyway, so why not do something useful while you're running?

And remember, quicksave is your friend... This is tough, but possible. Quicksave every time you've completed a step successfully, so that way you don't have to start all over again if the tears you to shreds...
