I'm not so fond of quotes since one-liners tend to share the same oversimplifications as commercial slogans do, but one I like is the one I have in my sig.

Churchill Need I Say More?

All great things are simple, and many can be expressed in single words: freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope.

He has all the virtues I dislike and none of the vices I admire.

It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried.

Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.

The price of greatness is responsibility.

Lastly one by Khalil Gibran:

For what is it to die, But to stand in the sun and melt into the wind?
For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun? - Khalil Gibran

"We shall fight on the beaches. We shall fight on the landing grounds. We shall fight in the fields, and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills. We shall never surrender!" - Winston Churchill

Nice one.
I kill two dwarves in the morning, I kill two dwarves at night. I kill two dwarves in the afternoon, and then I feel alright. I kill two dwarves in time of peace and two in time of war. I kill two dwarves before I kill two dwarves, and then I kill two more.
I may be bad, but I feel good.
