Continuity to the story

Post by blackheart »

I'm hoping to find some sort of tie-in with the core Star Wars story of the Rebellion. Maybe an interesting fact or two that would help give a new behind-the-scenes sort of twist to the originals. That would be pretty sweet, to find out that this guy would be the master who was the ancestor of some famous jedi, like Obi-Wan, or was the one who told the prophecy of the one who would bring balance to the Force.

Yeah that is a good idea. When I played KOTOR I thought about my character being an ancestor of the Skywalkers as both the main character and the skywalkers have a strong link to the force

The only tie-in I've seen was a brief comment by Canderous in KOTOR 1 that pointed to the Yuzzan Vong in "The New Jedi Order" series. Other than that, there's really not anything.

What comment about Yuzzan Vong did Canderous make? I don't remember that.

I can't imagine he made any direct statement. I've not read any of those books, but from what I gather no-one really knew about them until they started taking over most of the galaxy.... over 4000 years after KotOR.

Oh, I know what it is. It's when Canderous is talking about tracking down a pirate or something and he sees that ball of ice. When he fires on the ice, it turns out that a ship like none he'd ever seen was inside, and it fires on them. They chase it and it makes its way to the void beyond the galaxy.

Anyway, that wouldn't be the Yuuzhan Vong; 4000 years ago they would've still been in their own galaxy.

True I agree I don't think it could have been the Vong but that comment did remind me about them as well.
But you never know, it could have been! Dum Dum DUUUMMMMM!!!!!

Yes, but it's been half a year since then, and I wasn't 100% sure they were still in their own galaxy 4000 years ago, but it's hard to imagine they were in the void between galaxes for over 4000 years and their living ships survived even as well as they did. But even if they were in the galactic void, it wouldn't have taken them 4000 years before they started their attack. So if whatever the ship Canderous found was a Yuuzhan Vong ship, it would've been a scout, and the Yuuzhan Vong would have attacked much, much sooner.

The last name of the Republic Admiral (near the end) is Dodonna, a tie-in to Star Wars: A New Hope. Dodonna was the last name of the General in charge of the Rebel forces.

A tie-in would be Calrissian's Utility Belt in Dantooine, said to belong to an infamous smuggler by the name of Calrissian. Evidently this man is meant to be Lando's ancestor.
