Recover Stolen Items: Help!

Post by ArchMage »

Ok, I know that you can recover stolen items that the guards take from you by going into the forts and checking the "evidence chests", but for some reason Gnisis does not have any of these chests.
Does anyone know how to recover stolen items that you lost in Gnisis? Thankfully, I had made a back-up save prior to entering Gnisis, so I was able to recover by reverting to that save, but I sure would like to be able to get my Golden Saints, Ascended Sleeper, and empty Grand Soul gems back without losing the hours of work I did since entering (and leaving, and coming back to) Gnisis.....

anyone have a clue how to get these things back in Gnisis?

Actually crime does pay: it pays the Police, it pays the courts, it pays the probation officers, it pays the attorneys, it pays for those crack-head courses such as "anger management" that would otherwise not have any members. And it also pays millions to all those that get away with committing crimes but just never get caught; you know, the ones you DON'T hear about on TV because they GOT AWAY WITH IT!

And thank you, yes, I did get my stuff back....all of it, not only that, but it led me to a nice little smuggler's cave that I may not have found so easily if this hadn't happened) where I made a killing on Grand and Greater Soul Gems, which I had been looking for, so I guess in this case crime Did pay once again; at least it will when I capture some more Golden Saints and Ascended Sleepers.......

Ah, the FUN of being a Battle Mage/Thief !!!

PS Thanks Wrath- I will have to try that just to see if it works.....good idea.

An equally easy method to find your lost stuff is to, after you're caught, use divine intervention to go to the nearest fort. After that you can search high and low for the evidence chest (although it is always there) and when you do, just activate a chameleon spell, pick the lock and grab your gear.

I found that this almost always works, and if it doesn't, you can retrace where you were when caught and try the next closest fort. And if that doesn't work, you can always follow Wrath-Of-Egg's strategy (I actually have used a similar strategy, but only as a last resort because of the jail time).

Under the influence (again),
