Capture an enemy's soul in a soul gem. Move the soul gem on top of your paper doll image, and you'll bring up the enchant menu. Choose an item you want to enchant, and make sure the points needed for whatever spell and effects you need don't exceed the "power" of your gem, and the storage capacity of the item. Get your enchant and intelligence up pretty high, too, before you enchant.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Enchanting can be quite hit and miss, even if you have your intellligence, enchant and luck very high, so I would also suggest saving before trying to enchant anything yourself.

1. Open your inventory
2. Drop the (filled) soul gem directly onto the complete portrait of your character (the one next to your items and equipment in inventory)
3. Select : "Create New Item" as opposed to "Recharge Item"
4. In the empty boxes choose the soul gem you wish to use, and the item you wish to enchant
5. Select the spell effect(s)
6. Make sure that your values neither exceed the item you are enchanting nor the available charges of the soul gem (you should get a pop up box if you accidentally do this)
7. Hit the button thats says "Create" (or something similar)
8. Enchanting can be quite confusing initially, and there are many variables involved in your success rate. This means you'll need to practice a bit, messing around with it. It took me forever to learn, because I don't handle a plethora of details extremely well. But, this has been a well-covered subject on these forums, so you should also be able to dig up some more information by using the search function. I also suggest you take a look at the FAQ link listed in the Morrowind Yellowpages sticky, once there, click on the heading about enchanting... It is very helpful
note: You must purchase spells at one of the vendors in order to be able to implement their effects while enchanting items, scrolls will not work.
Hope that helps, and good luck
