Bandits

Post by Tjobov »

Heya, I somewhere read that after you cleared the Bandit Camp, the bandits spread all over the country will dissapear. Is this true? Because then, I would at first do as many bandit areas as possible for the scalps and the bit of experience, but if they still remain after clearing Bandit Camp, it wouldn't matter. yes, i do think to remember so, and even worse, i doubt you would get any money for a scalp back in beregost. but only as evil (or what i think of it..) i really had to look for the bounty.

I have just sold about a dozen wyvern heads and 40 scalps to Officer Vai and I'm in Chapter Five.

She will hang around after you clear the camp, but only until you speak to her next, then she will return to Baldurs Gate.

You will encounter bandits all over the place after Chapter 3, and even if Commander Vai has returned to Baldur's Gate there is someone who will buy scalps (although I can't remember who it is, sorry!).

Once the Bandit Camp is removed, the bandits on the roads between the Friendly Arms, Beregost and Naskel will disappear. That doesn't mean they won't turn up elsewhere.

*trying hard to avoid looking at Hairy's avatar*

I had cleared the camp and met Vai afterwards. Didn't check on her since then, though :p

@Locke
Ah, yes, you are correct. Sorcerous Sundries is the name of the shop, and I think they buy scalps for 10gp each (although I would expect that that is dependant on your CHA and Reputation).

@Brynn
Don't worry, it doesn't bite. Much. And you're probably too small to be a real meal. :p

IIRC the inn that's located west in Beregost buys scalps too.

Officer Vai will stick around indefinitely after you clear the camp until the first time you talk to her without any scalps to sell. Once you have cleared the camp, if you talk to her without any scalps she will say that she has received orders to return to Baldur's Gate. But if you have something to sell, she will always buy it from you throughout the entire game. I usually take pity on her after I come out of Candlekeep since by that time money is pretty much irrelevant.

Oh, shoot, and I dropped them all :rolleyes: Well, 10 gp is not a fortune, after all.

You can always go and whack some more bandits. They are not hard to come across. Although usually money, at that point, becomes more of a burden than actually useful.
