Hi, I’m Talley.
After gone off some thread topics (my most humble apologies), I have decided to start a new thread for discussion of how the Bloodlines story crosses over into the world of Vampire:The Masquerade fiction and background resources.
Many persons, while making postings, make references to terms, descriptions, and whatnot to items not in the PC game but in the bigger universe of Old World Of Darkness (OWOD includes V:TM, Werewolf, Mage, Mummy, and so on), and new people will go “Now what does that mean and how does if fit in?”.
So if you see someone says “Mr. Talley is the best darn Templar ever to beat up a Camie Archon!”. Just come here and hopefully someone can answer it for you without clogging up somebody’s thread with an off topic question.
So ask away. Thank you.

To answer question number one.
Archons(Camarilla) and Templars(Sabbat) are like the Sheriff of a City (enforcers-judge/jury/executioner), except that they are more like the FBI working for each faction as a whole outside the Prince system.

Clans and Bloodlines
The difference between Clans and Bloodlines is that Bloodlines don't have an Anteliduvian anymore or never had one. Bloodlines therefore are either former Clans who lost their founder to Diablerie, or are a slight "mutation" of the parent Clan because of a Speciality ( Discipline, Appearance, Gender, and more ) of their ancestor ( usually a mighty Vampire of the 4th or 5th Generation ).
Clans
Assamite ( Children of Haqim )
Brujah
Followers of Set
Gangrel
Giovanni
Lasombra
Malkavian
Nosferatu
Ravnos
Tremere
Toreador
Tzimisce
Ventrue
Bloodlines
All antitribu ( anti Clan ) lines. For example: a Ventrue fighting for the Sabbat would be antitribu. A Lasombra fighting for the Camarilla or being Independant would be antitribu too.
Salubri and Salubri Antitribu - a former Clan of Healers and Warriors, the Anteliduvian of the Salubri, Saulot or Zao Lat, died at the Hands of the former Mage Tremere and was diablerized. The Tremere hunted them down afterwards, only 7 Salubri healers did remain, but one of them found the Warrior path again and became a member of the Sabbat, creating several dozen Childer ( those are the Salubri Antitribu )
Nagaraja - A minor bloodline with only a few dozen members, they need to eat the flesh of their victims too.
True Brujah - The remaining children of Brujah ( not the Children of Troile who are Clan Brujah now ), they are quite detached and have a more scientific approach to the unlife. Instead of Celerity their discipline is Temporis, the mastering of Time.
Samedi - A bloodline probably descended from the former Clan of Death. Before the Giovanni became the Clan of Death, they were a bloodline, but Augustus Giovanni diablerized his Sire, and most of the old clan ( The Cappadocians ) was hunted down.
Harbinger of Skulls - Like the Samedi a bloodline of the Cappadocians who survived the Giovanni purge of their Clan. They are members of the Sabbat now.
Gargoyles - Warrior/Bodyguard servants of the Tremere, created with the Blood of Gangrel, Nosfertu and Tzimisce. Those who aren't slaves to the Tremere anymore are usually members of the Camarilla or Independant.
Baali - An infernal bloodline, created millenia ago. A few of them allways seem to survive any purge directed against them. They are infernalists, dealing with the devil and demons.
Caitiff/Panders - The clanless, it happens that a Sire abandons his childe after the Kiss and the childe never knows its parent Clan. Or the blood is so thin ( 13th Generations + ) that there is no real Clan Curse in a childe anymore ( i.e. a Nosferatu thin blood might look like he did in life ). Most Caitiff are independant or Anarchs.
The Sabbat has given their Caitiff honorary Clan Status and calls them Panders.
Daughters of Cataphony - An all female bloodlines probably descended froma Toreador or Malkavian. They are all singers of some sort.
Kiasyd - A Lasombra Bloodline created by infusions of Faey Blood.
Some Clans have other minor bloodlines.
