Backstab and problems

Post by Tananda »

This is the first time my protagonist is a thief (lvl.12 swashbuckler) and I am very dissapointed that he can not backstab properly. In the character information screen it is written "BackstabDamage x1". :( But even Jan and Yoshimo have x4 backstabbing modifier! I've checked my equipment but there is nothing that can affect backstab...
There is stipulated in the kit description that swashbuckler cannot backstab in multiplayer games, and I assume he should perform backstab properly in single.
Can you tell me what can be done to correct the situation? Any suggestions are highly appreciated :) .

If you check the kit description, you'll notice the Swashbuckler may not backstab (multiplier stays at x1). If you really like backstabbing (I do, which is why I prefer the assassin), then you need to play one of the other thief kits.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

Multiplier, multiplayer...

If you don't want to restart, you could make a new character from scratch and then cheat your levels back with the CLUA commands or ShadowKeeper.

Yup - the whole point of the swashbuckler kit is that they're meant to be flashy, flamboyant and bold - swashbucklers don't creep around and backstab, they get out there and do all the heroic stuff! :D

That's why they can specialise, and get bonuses to THACO, AC, and damage... You didn't expect to get all that for free now, did you?? :p

Actually, I did! :D What a silly I was!

Thanks a lot to all of you for your enlightening answers, I really thought that swashbucklers could backstab with far better modifiers. Well, may be next time my PC will be assassin, although they have a poor THACO...
