I'm in the basement at King's way, and I keep getting killed. I'm playing a Gangrel with Animalism 2, Fortitude 3, and Protean 3. I have a Defense of 6, and my scores in HTH and Melee are pretty good (don't remember exact numbers), especially Brawl.
But I can't seem to win this fight. I understand (now) that there is a seemingly inexhaustible supply of those nasty critters, and that the Tzimisce will keep popping in and out of the battlefield using his Viccisitude. Clearly, I need to ignore his minions as much as possible and focus on killing him, but I just can't pull it off so far, and I've died six times. I could sure use some Astrolite right now, or some other trick to get through this. I like moderate amounts of combat, but this scene is too much. I just want to get through it and keep playing the game.
I came close once, I got the Tzimisce down to about 25% of his health, but it's tough to get that far even, as I keep burning through blood for Fortitude and Protean, trying not to get distracted into killing minions, but getting killed before I can kill this boss.
When I enter this room, I'm at full blood and health, and I've got the two blood packs from the kitchen. I use them during combat to keep from running out of blood. I carry the fireax, for those moments when I momentarily lose the claws when Protean times out.
What could I better? Should I let myself run out of blood so I go into Frenzy? Is there some way to block those critter tunnels? Is there a pattern to where this guy keeps popping up? I just ignore the creatures, I won't end up fighting a horde of them, will I? Or does the game just replace them as I kill them?
In trouble at King's Way **Spoilers**
That's a tough one, isn't it?
In most of these magic-boss-with-humungous-powers-situations I've done the run around in a circle tacticts. It won't work as well in this one, but give it a try! I'm a Malkavian female, dunno if that makes a difference when it comes to how fast you can run.
Grab your knife. I had decent melee skills at this stage, no expert. Increase your defense and soak if you can. Start running from the critters. Run around in circles around the altar thingy in the middle of the room. The critters will hit you now and then but the running will give you a chance to heal at least a bit. Don't worry about the hidious man in red with the weird accent. He will appear now and then. Once he does - slash and hack him with the knife! Don't go chasing him. Just slash him when he happens to appear in front of you. Take the blood packs when you need them the most. Quicksave often (a real fingerstretcher when you're trying to press W and F9 at the same time!). You will die now and then. Just reload and keep trying. You'll manage eventually.
Once you're done, save and hang around a while to heal yourself - there's a nightmare ahead! Don't forget to wipe the sweat from your armpits. Ho ho ho!

Running is a good suggestion. And don't be afraid to kill one or two of the little critters if they get in your way. They do tend to wear you down while you hack at the main man. Male malk, here, with a brawl of 7, and all I used was my fists and one a couple shots of the killer hallucination discipline which just shaves his health down a tad to speed up my work. Managed it on the 2nd try, so shouldn't be that big a deal.
I will mention that someone else in these forums said that he/she managed to jump onto the well in the centre, where the little critters couldn't reach him, then picked off the big guy with guns at his leisure. I couldn't jump on the well -- maybe he got a lucky glitch -- but you could give this a try. The stairwell is obviously off limits with its blue fire.
Don't use a slow weapon. I recommend either the knife or fists. Good luck!

I took refuge behind the stairs ( there is a point were you still can see if he appears nearby, but can't be looked upon from the other side of the room ) and everytime the Tzimsce shows up nearby, I am shooting him with my SPAS Automatic Shotgun. That seems like a good concept cause he usually doesn't conjure as many headwalkers as if you running through the whole room. He goes down quite fast this way....

this is actually an easy boss-fight!
If you run diagonally left to the butchers' table in the corner, jump onto it, crouch and shoot, you can leave the room unscathed.
you need a ranged weapon, but it only takes patience.
I use either the shotgun or the anaconda and can usualy get 3 rounds in each time he pops up.
after the T is gone, watch out for any head-runners that have run under the table - but if you can't deal with a couple of them, you are going to get very frustrated before you meet Gary at the end of the warren.

I tried the table, and it worked great. Thanks.
As for the head-runners, I politely "axed" them to leave... and they "split"!
I'm into the warrens now...
