Does anyone ever try going against what their race is good for?

I didn`t even actualy know what to answer in the question at first. When i started for the first time then ofcourse i try to have the best skills and the best race for them but when i start again then i see that it is too easy for me.So i think i posted right if i choosed Yes for the answer.Mostly i start as an Altmer mage and end up as a fighter or a Jack-of-all-trades.I suppose that new level cap mobs could help a little in not becoming that.

I think that this only works well if your somewhat of a veteran at the game. Otherwise it you get so fustrated with the difficulty you end up giving up. But if you have played the game for a while and know a few of the shortcuts it's not nearly as hard. But there is a reason why there is a reason why there are so few orc mages in the game (much to the chagrin of all you misfit lovers out there i.e. death to Drizzt and all like him!...and now back to the subject) and that is because they all died while trying to fight off a rat with a fireball spell and killed themselves.

Spell? I thought he only uses hand to hand.Took me 10 tries to kill the murderer of Processus because his spell killed me in one cast
The evil nature of GameBanshee revealed below!
GameBanshee sells Xandax to make ends meet
Then, as if that was not enough, they decide to get rid of me via sweepstakes as well

I have made every sort of char imaginable in Morrowind. However, I ALWAYS make a 'custom' class. I have never, not once, made a char with any of the default classes! This way I can plan out my char from the very beginning, using only the best skills.
I have never made a char that was inept at their primary training. (ex: an orc mage, or a high elven fighter) But I have made a few uber chars that were adept at pretty much everything, which was fun because they can handle any situation thrown at them.
I tried making a Breton fighter. Didn't work out so well.
That's funny, I wanted to write that my Breton fighter did quite well, with the Resist Magicka bonus. I got bored with him real quick though. Maybe I shouldn't have majored in Spears

Pretty much my experience, too, but I also held back sleeping to get attribute bonuses until I'd trained up a huge amount of skill points. My Breton was enormously skilled in swords, and excellent in two other weapons, as well as most of the magic groups.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

It seems that no matter what i play, they always end up being mages. My Nord was originally supposed to be the cookie-cutter Nord with a big sword but there are certain spells that i have a hard time playing without... Levitation, Open, Heal, Recall/Mark. one ranged destruction spell of each element, and the full set of Stat restore's and Deisease cure's
I have in a sort of way done it but not cared about that. I let my character evolve freely as i play. I play as a Nord hes attributes (when you choose character) are set to blunt weapons, heavy, medium, axe, spears, hand to hand etc. But I have focused on light armor, marksmanship, armorer, unarmored, long sword.Strictly against what a Nord is meant to train in.
So now im running around with snow wolf armor which give bnefits i dont need at all ( cold resistance) but i use it thanks to good durability and high armor rating.

I do this pretty often, it definitely adds a new element to the game. No matter what race or class or anything I am, I ALWAYS use marksman, the Daedric longbow is just too cool not to use. I also have never played a char. with a set class. hmmm actually now that I think about it, I might have made a nord healer way back when...that can't count...
