Keeping Drow Armour Weapons etc

Post by Gringo Fur »

Hello,Does anyone know if it's possible to leave the Underdark area but still somehow stop the fantastic Drow Armour from vapourising.
Many Thanks

Some NPC, Imoen fore sure, if dropped from the group in the Underdark are able to get out by themselves and reach the Copper Coronet: just give the items you want to keep to that NPC, drop him/her and tell him/her to wait for you at the CC.
The Drow equipment become dust only in the area of the elven camp, so as long as you don't transit there you are safe (remember that you have to get back there after dealing with Bodhi).
Anyway in ToB all drow's equipment become dust, no save!

I've heard of another trick, but I'm not sure if it has been patched or anything, and I haven't tried it myself.

Some of the familiars the main character can summon have the pickpocket ability. (Look for them, I'm sure you'll find the abilities if you search the forums for 'familiar'). If you remove all items except the drow equipment from your NPC's and pickpocket them with the familiar, the item you steal (which HAS to be a drow item, there isn't anything else) will be moved to your familiar's inventory, which you can't access AFAIK. Move the creature to your backpack and leave the Underdark. The game checks the inventory of all characters and destroys drow equipment if it is present, but it does not check the familiar. Then, release the familiar from your backpack, talk to it and tell it to give you the items it had stolen and voila! Drow plate goodness!

The only familiar that in SoA has pickpocket abilities is the Ferret (LN), and yes it will work, although it can carry only 3 items max.
There are also some other ways, but are very tricky, so the easiest one is using a NPC to carry it (you can drop him just before the exit).

The G3 Tweak Pack includes a component that makes the items disintegrate at a slower rate, rather than immediately. It's at http://www.gibberlings3.net/g3tweak/ if you're interested. :)

I think there is a code in shadow Keeper to import them into your game. Also you can get the code there and use the CLUA Console. Either or.

They do work with ToB installed, it's just that once you enter in Tob all drow items become dust.

I am not very sure about this but your thread got me so exided that i still wanted to post. There should be a chance that it won`t turn to dust if you put it into your Bag Of Holding. No promises though,it just came to my mind.

Unfortunatly no, once you get into ToB (you must kill Jon) even if in Bag of Holding they turn to dust.
But never mind, in ToB you can get your hands in other nice armours.

I think almost all the familiars have pick pocketing abilities but they aren't mentioned or very high, I can't remember exactly though.

In SoA only the ferret has a worthwhile ability, the cat has the ability, but with such low score that actually isn't able to pickpocket anything.
Once you get in ToB familiar are upgraded and some get effective pickpoketing, but it's to lat for the drow's armours
