Till Death Do Us Part?

Post by dragon wench »

So, I've gotten a little curious as to how people treat the potential for violence and murder in the game. Do you generally kill anything or anyone that moves, regardless if they attack you first or not (no, taunting them into attacking you does not count as being attacked first).
Do you generally avoiding initiating violence and gore, unless it is to kill for items?
Do you completely avoid bloodshed by sneaking past any foe?
Do you only kill if attacked first?

Me, I usually fall into the last category. Not that I walk the straight and narrow all the time; my character is a highly accomplished thief, she simply does not get caught and always maintains a 0 bounty (without having to resort to having the guild remove it for her). :D

Damn, I forgot to add an option geared to assassins.

Fable, if you are able to, could you please add:

"I'm an honourable murderer, I only kill people for quests, such as those given by the Assassin's Guild."

If this isn't possible, maybe people could just note they'd have selected the above option in a post. :)

Zar is only if attacked first (and even then, she's tried the Calm Humanoid spell more than once - but it never seems to last!) .

Rosh however kills people if they have shinys. :)

Silly me, I didn't read before voting. I took the option of only if attacked first to really mean provoked first though. So I figured if they are on a quest to be killed they don't count.. :D Gotta love my moral system eh? ;)

Done. Even if the board is running about as fast today as a dead fish.

I tend to play variations on killing only if attacked first, though I have played characters with different motivation sets who would attack for whatever seemed best in their lights. Fortunately, in MW, you can make a tidy profit just waiting to be attacked. ;)
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

I will usually just kill whoever stands in my way between a quest and my rewards. however, I have a tendency to snap once in a while, especially if some NPC insults me even if i'm wearing flashy clothes with a rep of 20-30+... Who do those people think they are? imagine you're the Grand Master of the mage's guild, head of redoran & the nerevarine, and some commoner dares to 'sniff' at me or call me a bad name?! Of course I will taunt them to death. I feel it's my right as the chosen one to do so...

Besides that, I'm usually nice. One character of mine actually tried to go through the game with an absolute minimal number of kills. (ie Dagoth Ur has to die, as well as a few NPC's I can't remember...) Skills were all defensive, and all my spells were either burden, blind, calm humanoid/creature, invisibility, chameleon, paralyze etc. very fun, but impossible... :)

Depends on the character I'm playing with at the time. For the most part though, I'd rather avoid bounties. It costs money to get them removed, and while money really isn't a problem after a very short time, I still seem to be too greedy to pay my way out of trouble.

Thanks Fable! And it seems whatever lag has been slowing down the boards is now much improved :)

I only kill for quests, because you never know who you need for the main game.
I just steal in front of them, go to jail, and get my comfenscated stuff beck, as I am the head of the imperial legion. Not too hard ;)

I generally only kill people who:
1: Have a really sweet item in their possesion
2: Must die for a quest
3: Give me some serious lip (and I do mean serious ;) )
4: Act mean to me because I'm Argonian (Best. Humanoids. Ever.)

There have been ocasions where I killed people for other reasons (such as that time when I massacred some neutral witchhunters because I was angry for having recently gotten a bad grade in french), but that's it for the most part.
Get up, stand up. Come on, throw your hands up.
