Where does Korgan go?

Post by Syndar Lindham »

Where does Korgan go when he leaves your party? From what I have seen on some of the other posts he will apparently leave if your reputation is over 18 which mine is. I need to find him so I can kill the SOB and get some equipment back.

He's at the Copper Coronet, in the slums. Just remember that he might balk at your offers if your rep is too high. ;)

I had already picked Korgan up. I had him for quite some time. I completed a quest that upped my reputation and he took off. I checked the Copper Coronet, but be was not there. He seemed pretty upset as his final words ran along the lines "Next time I see you will be on the end of my sword."

I think it's ridiculous when Korgan gets "upset" for high reputation, evil or not...he is a hired help (mercenary)...He shouldn't bother as long as he gets paid!

@Gozpel, he's hired help, but hired help can after all leave: he's being paid (presumably) out of a split in the take. (Matter of fact, I wish you'd actually see a portion of the take deducted for different party members.)

fable, of course Korgan can leave at any time
but the reason for leaving? He and the party is liked and respected..that doesn't sound like a valid reason to me.
But I still like him and I wouldn't mind pay him more (much more) if he only stayed and worked for the main goal, and stopped sulking for being a hero.
Or maybe put him on contract and then send the cowled lawyers at him if he breaks it :)

@Gozpel, his reason for leaving may not be valid to you or me, but neither of us feels personally threatened (as does Korgan) by open displays of idealism. There *are* people like that, people who derive security from the sense that everybody else is always going to act as they believe they do, entirely from a sense of self-preservation and enrichment.

An easy way to keep korgan from leaving is to pick a few out of the way vendors. Not ones in the open, but ones behind the closed doors. And get caught stealing....

Ba da da da da bumm bum da da dum.

Baaa Daaaa Dumm,

Oops, sorry. Jane's Addiction flashback.

Anyway. Anytime you get caught stealing, it drops your rep by one. But your only agro'd enemy will be the hidden shopkeep. Doing this will keep your rep manageable for the few CE chars and not bring all of Ahm down on your narrow arse.

Be sure to have party AI off though, because KILLING one of those vendors will drop your rep by ten. A bit severe.

Evils may complain about your Rep because they feel you don't rake in enough cash that way. I remember Montaron saying: "Must ye be so insufferably charitable?".

fable, the most irritating point is that in my first game Korgan left without warning (rep 18 ok...rep 19, Eeek, I'm out of here)

And really, as a mercenery shouldn't he at least haggle the price if it was such a discomfort for him to be seen as a hero? I do think that, that is the mentality of 99 % of all mercenaries, if the goal or the surrounding doesn't fit them, they raise the price for the services, or at least tell the boss they are going to quit. So with only one of this type in the game (of 16 NPC's) he makes it 100 %!

To rob or kill "innocents" isn't in my book, I found out that I can kick him out of the party when I get rep points and hire him again, but that's not the thing. With all romances and stuff, why can't HE open his mouth and tell me he is getting frustrated with being seen as too good...instead of just leaving me stranded (levelled up and stronger than ever)

I would happily 10-fold his pay if he only asked for it, but no...

Korgan does give you fair warning if your Rep gets too high.

"You best change yur tune, and soon, because my blade be itchin to kill, and I nay be able to stop it!"

You start hearing that, better lower that rep.

Aye Khanbhaal Nocturnus, you are right. But I mostly play with low volume at night (family feuds are made of this) and I missed that.
Still I think there could be a dialog, as in all the romance stuff and so we sort out all internal problems in the group by chats! Right? So if Korgan...or anyone was unhappy with my ways of leading the group, shouldn't there be a way to discuss it?
Heck, I am the leader of the group and no one listens...I think I prefer solo!

Btw, does ppl leave you if your rep goes too low (aka Keldorn, Anomen)???

I've heard before that Korgan has to be paid but never thought about it. Now I'm intrigued - Korgan has never asked me for any money in order to stay in my group; why do you consider him more mercenary than the others? Because he apparently used to work as a mercenary before you met him?

Astafas, first time you get Korgan is for the chase of the book of Kaba?(sp) Then if you kick him out he will charge you 500 gold to join the group again.

And that little evil sh*t is my best tank ever, double wielded and berserked...and a good shot from behind with throwing axes.

I just hate him being evil and no talker before leaving (clickable choices in dialog)
He just goes

Chaotic Evil Battle Ragers don't come across as the types to sit down and chat when they're not happy with how things are going... for some straaange reason. :D

Just let Korgan throw an axe in a merchants stomach, keeps him happy. Well, do it in a shop either way.
