Best way to get components

I read that you break down advanced med packs that you get back
four components but for some reason I cannot break down
advanced med packs.

Is there another way to get a lot of components?

The best way I know of without cheating is to break down any heavy armor, good swords, good implants, etc. that are in your inventory and you don't need at the moment. If you play RPGs like me this is hard, because you want to save all good equipment for when you'll need it. But you can typically get about 3000-4000 components with the right character at the work bench.

That having been said, there is another kind of cheap way. Talk to the handmaiden and get her clothes off. Put your clothes back on and ask her if she can put some clothes on. After she says her spiel, say "I disagree...", then say never mind. She'll now be wearing her mother's robes. Go into your inventory and unequip it, repeat as desired. With a good enough repair skill these will each break down into 200 components and sell on Telos for 2600 credits. This trick will only work on the Ebon Hawk.
