What would you do if....?

I had this curiousity today and I figured it might be interesting to see what others thought of it.

What would you do if you knew you had a limited time left before you were going to die? Say, you had two months, and it was certain. You were still healthy enough to be active and such, not bedridden or dependent on medical attention or anything. You just knew your heart was going to stop at a certain point type thing. What changes would you make to your life knowing you had no long term worries anymore? What would you do with yourself?

I'll reply to this with my own thoughts later once I've come up with something worthwhile, but I was wondering what others thought of it.

It really depends on if it's just me that is dying, or everyone in the world. If we're talking about armageddon here I think my reply would be a bit gutsier.

I would probably help a whole lot of people with tiny problems, of course I would quit playing vids because im already wasting life( not regrettfully though!), maybe visit famous places like Paris, get at least one single out with my band,Find the girl im supposed to love my whole life, and many other things. Really, Im not worried about Death, but I do know that if I was to die soon, I would do alot.

Just you, some odd health defect type thing.

See, I'm torn between wanting to just go out and do everything I've wanted to do, and all of those things you've thought "no, I can't do that, that's bad for me. I'll get fat, or have a heart attack, or I'll break my neck doing that" type things. You know, who cares? You're gonna die anyways. If your the type that wants to down 3 lbs. of bacon a day for breakfast, but can't because of your health, well there's your chance. Want to jump off a building? Make that your last day. Climb Mt. Everest? Of course most people die, but hey, that's coming up anyways!

That kind of thing, or just spending as much time as I can with those people I really truly care about. I'm sort of torn between doing all I wanted to do, and just wanting to soak up as much time with those people I'd say.

Also, would you tell everyone you knew, or keep it to yourself if you found out? Personally, I'd only tell like, a wife, or girlfriend. If I had kids, them too. Other than that, I'd keep it to myself. I wouldn't want to deal with all they sighing and whining and moaning and crying and pity and all of that when I could be enjoying the rest of my time with those people instead.

I would tell people i love on the last day, so they can get it all out and then I wont have to worry about anything because im going to die the next day anyway.

If it's just me I would probably spend a lot of time with family etc. and prepare tapes and whatnot for my daughter. She's not even two yet. I don't have a father anymore thanks to cancer and I think it would tear me up for her not to have me.

Anyway. If it were everyone it would be pure debauchery.

If I were to suddenly find myself in such a situation then I would make several changes to my life. One, I would drop my degree, then I would use my savings to move to the States to be with my SO to spend my remaining time with her. As far as telling people, I would only tell 2 select friends and a couple of members of my family, as well as my SO. I would tell all of them the situation as soon as I found out, because I figure a couple of months of them being depressed about me going to die would be better for them then who knows how long resenting that I didn't tell them or being angry at themselves that they didn't spend the remaining time with me 'better'. Oh, and one other thing, I'd pay for my own funeral and grave costs so others didn't get lumped with it.

I am in a particularly sad/depressed mood beacuse me and my girlfriend just broke up.

But if I had soething like that I would love to get revenge on those wo have betrayed me,lied to me,cheated me,or have just been an ass or ***** to me.And I would tell Cody that I loved him one last time.I would tell Him and his woman that I was dying.Screw evryone else though.I hat people that take pitty or mourn for/over me.

Sorry to hear about you and your girlfriend, I've been into quite a few arguments with my Toy all week myself.

There is definately a list of people I'd scrw with to get even if I had no worries about being sent to prison. Two people owe me close $4,000 between the two of them at the moment and I'd like to take that out of their hides, but alas, that's assault. There are some people who badly hurt my close friends and were never punished for it, they'd be fun to go after as well. Not to mention a few of my ex's, revenge would be nice there too.

Well I use to think I would spend the opportunity to get revenge on certain people who had either wronged me or someone I loved seriously, or certain people that had just given up their right to live, now I don't think I would bother. Mainly because once your dead it doesn't really matter what you did with your life, because it has no effect on you, and IMO there is no after-life so everything you do is kinda pointless, including getting revenge, when you could be spending that time happier with loved ones.

I would continue my life in the same fashion as I do know, although I would spend some extra time on transfering my knowledge and my research strategies to my colleagues so they could go on and conclude my studies after I was dead. When it was about 1-2 weeks left, I would travel to South Georgia or the The Land of Fire and hike around until I died.

I've always made a point of living my life in a manner so that I would feel satisfied even if I died tomorrow, so there is really nothing I would like to change.

Personally, I think it is very sad to hear that you would spend the final weeks of your life on those you hate and who have done horrible things to you instead of spending your last time with something that makes you really happy.

Well you see,me and The person who made really happy,broke up.Plus there isn't really anyone else who has made me any more happy then she...We have been together scince like 7th grade and all.So I havn't much had anyone else.

I've been there, in all honesty, you probably won't believe me at the moment. Chances are you WILL find someone else who makes you happy, for entirely different reasons. You probably won't have to wait too long either.

I'd enjoy myself, maybe travel. Seize the day. Eat drink and be merry.

And sad though it may be CE, while I' m going to meet my maker, there are a few others who deserve that right too.

What I would do... (1)

Well, first off, I'd empty out my bank account and donate it to the poor. It's not much on effecting NYC, but it'll be some help I guess. Then I'd be the best I could be to my parents. Same goes to my gf (not as though I hadn't already been doing so). Then, I'd write a will, I don't have too much stuff, but it'd feel nice knowing who my stuff goes to when I die. mmm... that's all I've got for now, I'll add more when I think of them.

What i'd do

welll. . . i guess i would tell everyone, so they knew it was time to kik it into overdrive, i try to live life to the max already, but there are rules and laws, but im dying hey who cares.

good point by I.M i guess id donate my $210 stewing in my account (im only 14 ppl, im not that rich)

id tell those who i love that i do indeed love them, then i would paint my body green (hey why not) and let everyone watch my magnificent death by the hands of . .. . . .lets say. . superman

i'd also like to comment on the pesemistic side of this post. . why is it "what would u do if u died" why not "what would u do if u lived forever"?

Living forever wouldn't put someone in any sort of mode to end up doing things in an urgent, exciting manner. If I happened to live forever I'd be happy to do nothing so long as I had food and shelter and such for years on end. If I have two months to live, I'll do my best to make things interesting, hence I thought it might be interesting to see what people would do.

Spend time with family. Get intouch with all my friends if possible, get laid

and do a few things i have always wanted to:

1. Visit Latin America
2. Visit Egypt, Indonesia and Switzerland one last time (i lived there)
3. Pray for the well being of my family
