basic combat questions

Post by weemer »

i am told a tip for success if to select targets and weapon modes for each person in your party prior to combat. i can do this for my character, but i leave the game on combat pause and switch characters and the game won't let me select targets and weapon modes for my party members. how do you do it?

when i select a target and have killed them am i suppose to click on another enemy? can you que enemies as well as weapons modes?

how do i keep other party members from moving in front of me and killing the guy i am fighting?

thanks

1. Usually the reason for this is that your PC is at the lead of the group. The game pauses as soon as you spot an enemy, but this means that the two people slightly behind you have not seen them yet. It is a good tactic to keep pausing and assigning orders, but its not essential, as you shouldn't have a huge amount of problems anyway.

2. You can que enemies the same way you que attacks/feats. You just click on another enemy once to select, and then again to assign an attack type (standard/flurry/power/critical/etc). It will then come up in your combat que as it would anyway. Only thing is you can't tell the difference between an attack on one enemy and an attack on another so you have to keep track!

3. No way of keeping them behind you I think in this game. Apart from selecting them and making them run away. In KotOR II there is an option to select a combat "stance", and you can make them stay in position, but there was nothing I remember in the first game.
