A poo-bin is where you put the paper after you've wiped. Being a civilised country, we Brits flush ours down the bog. Though I hear not everyone in Europe does this, in fact I hear that our Euro-tax goes to improving some countries plumbing... Image

My UK tax money on the other hand pays for f*ing cr*p like the Millenium Dome, which is now shut down Drakron. Waste of money - 1 year only. Idiots. At least we got a good Bond movie out of it.

Hard to beleive the sun never used to set on the Brtish Empire at one point eh? How a nation of morons conquered the 4 corners of the globe is beyond me.

we have paper bins on the streets(well...i dont since most get burn because they are made of plastic) and Lisbon is not a very clean city (somepeople are real pigs) but some parts(like the ex-expo 98 now know as the nations park) are relativity clean.
We also had half the world and now.... well even the US is going down, that is the way that thing works I gess

When talking about former world-dominators, do not forget us (Greek) while Alexander owned half of the known world around 320 B.C.
Also the Romans, they did the sam thing for many more years (some centuries).

AND Athens is propably the most filthy city in civilized Europe, even more than Lisbon. I think (never been in Lisbon, though).
Italian citys aren't exactly clean too...

Talking about filth, though, citys in Turkey and Bulgary must the filthiest in Europe. (no offense to the people that come from those, just pointing out a fact - AND I have said that Athens sucks too).

And I have been to the whole Europe, so I think I can tell.

The expansion pack should:
1. Remove XP cap. The XP cap is not only unfair but also unnecessary. My group consists of 5 characters. With XP cap removed they get ca 3600000 XP. What's the difference between 2950000 and 3600000? And a 6-guys party?
2. Solve the "Remove Traps" problem. Suppose I am not about to steal, backstab, etc. I am still FORCED to hire a thief because of removing traps - even if the thief does not fit into my party. The alternative is to trigger almost all traps but the traps are to be found and removed, aren't they?
3. Repair druids: the level cut-off is sipmly unjust. Not only spells but also thac0 and saving throws are affected. This makes the druid the "never used" class.
4. Do something with dragons. Only two "strategies" really work with dragons:
a) Fake Talk
b) Catch a Wand of Cloudkill and cast one Cloudkill after andother with high frequency (you must prevent the dragon from healing itself) - in the other words another Fake Talk.
All other strategies described here and elsewhere are no strategies but results of pure luck. Examples: Slay Living and Finger of Death work prefectly - if the dragon fails its saving throw. But all dragons have saving throw vs. death = 3. Anything to add?
Summon monsters: The dragon can be ready with them in a few seconds. Worse, it can charm them and turn them against yourself (seen repeatedly).
What I require is an existence of a combat strategy - not an equality dragon = goblin.
5. Support for a custom created party. The game itself hints how to create your own party but with your own party, you lose completely character-specific quests and hints (well, you also lose character-specific drivel). I suggest the following: at the beginning of chapter 2-5, each character except the protagonist gets 20% chance to get a role of a predefined character, for example a cleric can become "Anomen" or "Viconia" if Anomen or Viconia isn't in the party (the cleric loses his role if Anomen or Viconia is hired).

You should be able to go to Baldurs Gate just like in BG.

Dragons are really hard, but they're supposed to be. They're only optional, after all. And I beat Firkraag and the Shadow Dragon without resorting to cheating (I was around level 15-16, I think). I had to seriously prepare and load many times, but it's all part of the challenge. It wouldn't be the same if you could beat everything without ever hitting the reload button.

Magus,
the dragons aren't optional. You must kill Firkraag if you want to complete the Paladin's quest. You must kill the Black Dragon in any case. You must kill Firkraag if you want Carsomyr. You must kill the Shadow Dragon if you want Crom Faeyr. I am not sure whether you must kill the Shadow Dragon if you want to complete the Ranger's quest.
Next, you can pickpocket everything with pickpocket ability = 1. Well, you will need to reload the game many times. Does it mean that you are seriously prepared for pickpocketing? The same is true for the dragons. If you need to reload constantly, i.e., during almost all dragon fights, then you are NOT prepared for the fight. I suggest the following criteria for those who want to say "I am prepared for the fight":
1. Chance to win >= 75%.
2. Nobody dies during the fight. Well, the party may be really groggy after the fight.
3. Normal party, i.e., a party composed from the game characters.
4. You will fight against Firkraag and the Shadow Dragon at relatively LOW level - no Pit Fiends, Glabrezus, lvl 9 scrolls, etc.
5. You can fight against Adalon and the Black Dragon at relatively HIGH level.
6. Investment: 10000 gp per dragon is acceptable. It is also possible to plan the fight, for example, to buy necessary equipment for Adalon before leaving for Asylum.
7. The strategy must work for every WISE composed party. Perhaps, different parties will need different strategies.
My constant whinning about dragons is a result of nonexistance of a strategy defined above. I think such strategy MUST exist if we do not want to place an equality sign between BG2 and Doom-like stupidities.

Well i've found that you don't have to kill the black dragon at any cost. You must drop SOME of your best equipment (the one you really need) before you go in his area, then you talk to him..possible spoiler

and he will "sense" on your body the presence of your good equipment (the one you don't need anymore); convince him to take that as a payment and he'll go away, giving you the item. But it's not funny.....kicking his ass is the best!!!!!! Image

Bumped and on topic.

After my second bike broke on the way to work this morning I had some time think about and expansion/sequel. My picks are:

1. An NPC (even with sucky stats) available for each kit/sub-class.
2. What about a plot involving having to unite Ahm and Balder's Gate to deal with an underdark invasion. Your path would be easy/straightforward if you had been good/cooperative in the past, but oh so much harder if you were a 'bridge burner'.
3. Ditch the exp cap it just sux, if necessary for programming reasons level limit by class, and make some story up like past lvl 25 you need to go see 'insert approriate name/title here' and of course this NPC can only be found at end game.
4. Fix the exp system. Characters level up way to fast. Write scroll experience - drop the last 1 or 2 zeros and that makes sense (20 spells per level, 9 levels,= 900,000 exp). Lock and Trap experience drop at least the last zero and that makes sense. Some monsters who use special abilities and have 40+ H.P. give you 24 exp points (shadow theif fodder using invisibility potions and with x3 or x4 backstab damage) these guys should give you the proper exp value for the special abilities but AT LEAST one exp per HP.
5. Bard singing for the N.P.C. Bard - how cool would it be if after retreating from Fiirkrag the bard started singing "they boldly turned and buggered off", or perhaps:

"Forget your troubles come on Githyanki
we're going to take all your swords away.
Forget your troubles come on Githyanki
your evil and your gonna pay."

or not - Curdis

Well, lessee...I'd definitely like to see a continuation of the romances, depending on which one you took. (And I think this goes without saying but I'll go ahead and say it anyway: it would be nice if the Jaheira romance worked properly.) I suppose some better romance options for female PCs would be good too, since I hear a lot of complaints about Anomen. More stronghold stuff would be nice. Maybe something about the war to the south. Oh, and another dragon fight or two, but with some REAL dragons this time. It seems like all the ones in BG2, while unbearably cool, were a little on the weak side. Kangaxx and the Twisted Rune battles were tougher, and you'd think that a dragon of all things would be more absurdly powerful. Granted, these were probably all young dragons, but still. You get the idea.

I'll agree with Go Cut, more Artemis, to balance the Drizzt appearance

I'd like to see a different type of traveling. Walk to edge of town...load...in the forest! Cheesy. Some type of animation or something for transition. I didn't play BG1, so I don't know how it was done then. But when think of adventuring, I think traversing long distances. It doesn't have to be time consuming, but I dont like the way its done now.
